I never left at the date cause I know traveling and going to the states wouldn't be safe. I found a good apartment and have been bunkered in here. I see my regular non pros I met from tinder like a year ago and they stay for 3 days banfging then leave. I had one that was a pro that is now non pro that stays with me. She used to have a profile on photoprepagos and I think someone like really traumatized her. She is out of the game. She recently left Bogota to move with her family somewhere north 3 hours away. Its funny I'm still able to meet chicks fro tinder here and there. I know safety is a concern but you have to sort of know where they are from, who they interact with etc. I don't know how long ill be here, but its ok cause I work from home. I wonder if even with the extended lockdown if they will extend my visa stay concerning they granted amesty to tourist who were here during lockdown.

Anyway I hope you are all safe, this hobby is on hiatus until 2022 to be honest. Get it while you can.

I've been visiting Colombia every 2 months or so for the last few years. My last trip was February 2020, I am starting to realize that may be my last trip for a while. I watched the powers that be in Colombia, constantly pushing back the dates of reopening and I'm not very optimistic for it to ever get back to normal and opening the borders. The constant flare ups of hot spots in Bogota and other cities will give the Lopez liberals reason to push back the August 31 dates. This virus has declared war on us hobbyist.

There are websites devoted to successfully trekking through the Darien. I personally know two people who have made it. The biggest danger is still tropical diseases and lack of food and potable water, especially if you get lost, which is super easy to do.

There were indeed rebels in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. I spoke with villagers in the small communities who remembered their very strong presence. Though it's not high on my list to encounter either rebels or the Gulf Clan, the worst by far were the far right-wing paramilitary death squads accounting for 80% of civilian casualties during the conflict.

Trekking the Darien can be done with the right outfitter from the Panama side, but going it alone is a suicide mission mainly for the reasons you mentioned, or accidentally stepping on a Fer-de-lance who are very population-dense in that area.

Ah, the infamous Darien Gap. Unfortunately, you need the Panama government's permission to go anywhere beyond Yaviza. Although, I think I'd rather run into FARC then the Clan del Gulfo, ha, ha. So, I'll give that one a pass.

Going out early evening is my time of choice as well (no matter what part of the world I'm in). I always work up an appetite with a girl, and then eat some dinner afterward. It must feel crazy being one of the only guys there at that time. I imagine it might be like SEA about 15-20 years ago when a guy could have a girl pulling on each of his arms to go with her. In the meantime, keep those beauties warm until the rest of us can get down there.

Seem to be the regular army, although hard to be sure due to quality of picture. FARC usely have AK47 or FAL and are supposed to have the Colombian flag at one shoulder.

To the best of my knowledge, the FARC never had a strong presence on the Atlantic coast at all, unless you count the Montes de Maria, which are way deep into the interior already.

I think you may be thinking of the Sierra Nevada in Tolima, which was 100% FARC owned up till about 20 years ago.

Ha, ha, man, I hope someone would pay the ransom. They're not that bad, just a bunch of farmers that wanted their land back after the government promoted industrial farming. The AUC was much worse. In all seriousness, that might have been the case if I were white. I'm Arabic American, and I've lost count how many times I've been mistaken as Latino. Maybe it saved my ass that time.

I definitely agree with you on waiting until the border officially opens before buying tickets. I've been in a battle with United since March for a refund. They say they'll give me "credit" for year. It's not worth the headache. Also, I would not shed a tear if something unfortunate happened to Lopez.

Yeah, it's frustrating. The girls are there, and we can't get to them. Poor Woodman has to give 2 mil gifts to girls because he can't possibly get to them all (lucky guy). And Elvis wants to get stuffed into a shipping container to get smuggled in. It's a sad state of affairs, but the silver lining is that things will eventually open. Keep the faith, brothers. Thanks IQ but my SF days are over, been that way for 3 years now. I met a casacita who is drop dead gorgeous. She's a 4. 8 engineering student in her 3 year in the Nat'l university. Truly an intellectual, somehow her wires short circuited about me LOL No make up, doesn't drink or smoke or dress provocatively but a real sleeper behind closed doors. American, Spirit (which has been operating humanitarian flights since April), Jet Blue and all the others have flight schedules beginning September 1. Some of them have service schedules beginning in August. It will take a very significant deterioration in the health situation here to postpone that September date. The political pressure from tourism and travel interests is intense. There are problems in Bogota, Baranquilla, and a couple of Medellin barrios. Those of you who are here have likely seen the news about Claudia Lopez cancelling Fathers Day and other holiday travel for the rest of them month, along with the Kennedy lockdown that is still in place. Intercity bus companies are also pushing hard to be allowed to work. Restrictions on local buses and the metro in Medellin lasted a little more than a week after businesses were allowed to reopen. They are packed to the gills again.

Perhaps those lucky punters from Canadia will be back to Bogota first?

When he tried to open the airport the end of May, Lopez publicly warned him the only way the airport would open would be, quote "OVER MY DEAD BODY" She has designs on the presidency so she will prevent him from opening the country quickly. Now they are following the Argentina model with International flights scheduled to open August 31. I believe she will try to extend that, maybe September or even October wouldn't surprise me. So, I'm not buying another ticket until it ACTUALLY opens to International flights.
