    4 x 4 Update. Details

As mentioned earlier in this thread, 4 X4 is indeed open again. I had the opportunity to stop by there this evening for my last night in Rio. I've been going to Rio on frequent basis since 2011 always considered 4 x4 as one of my favorites. Below are some details from my experience at 4 x4 tonight (Friday):

    - Everything inside looks basically the same as it did before. Modest updates to the bar front and upholstered seating areas. Rooms are still shit as well as locker rooms and bathrooms. Steam rooms were turned off. You have to ask for toiletries now from the bathroom attendant rather than being able to grab it yourself from the sink area like before.

    - Lots of new faces at the front desk, behind the bar, wait staff, locker room, and bathroom attendants. Two of the three front desk staff spoke great English.

    - Hours: Mon-Fri 1:30 pm to Midnight.

    - Pricing: $70 are entrance (includes a drink or two) and is waived if you session before 6 pm (same as before). $270 are (30 min), $390 are (1 HR / cabine), $450 (1 HR / suite).

    - Out of all the Tier 1 termas, I would say 4 x 4 gave the least shit about sanitizing areas. I recommend bringing your own hand sanitizer as it is currently not present inside the terma except behind the bar. Monte Carlo was the best at keeping things sanitized (hand sanitizer on every table and mounted in every hallway, staff regularly spraying down tables and chairs, spraying disinfectant in the rooms after each session).

    - I arrived at about 5 pm and there were only about 10 girls and around 12 guys (about half in civilian clothes). I was not impressed and didn't recognize any of the girls from previous visits. However, I wanted to wait a little longer to see if more girls would arrive after 6 pm and a few did.

    - At one point I counted 18 girls in the bar area. Assuming I missed a few that may have been upstairs getting fucked, I'd say there were probably around 20-22 girls working.

    - As usual, it was an interesting mix of girls. However, based on my preferences, I would have only taken around 5 out of the 22 girls upstairs. I thought one I was hot and would come back for her if I had another day to do so. There were 4 girls that I recognized from previous visits and ended up sessioning with one of them. The remaining girls in my opinion looked pretty rough / favela type.

    - The atmosphere tonight was rather calm. Not the usual party / festive environment that I am used to experiencing at 4 x 4. Jorginho has been working at T65 now so there is currently no emcee or stage show like before.

    - I'm sure 4 x 4 will get better in the coming weeks. The receptionist mentioned to me as I was paying my bill that more girls would be coming back next week. Unfortunately, I won't be around next week to see it but will be back again in February.

    Botafogo

I think you are also tradeandtravel, so we have met off line.

But for the benefit of the thread, I will take a few sentences about Botafogo.

Botafogo. Jardim Botanica (where Solarium, the best Zona Sul Terma IMHO) - is a middle class neighborhood in Brazil, next to a favela (Santa Marta) in some places. The prime spots are on Rua Sao Clemente and Rua Bambina, west to the location of Solarium.

The key is using city buses, and of course, the metro.

I lived at Sao Clemente for 7 months in 2015-2016 and was maybe the happiest of all my 27 trips to Rio. Indeed, even though I have become a fan of Transamerica in Barra the Tijuca, I would move back to Botafogo, and probably will, when and if I find a good spot.

    Why?

    Well:

    1. It is mixed race (Barra is decidedly not friendly to blacker people, which is my particular interest as far as girls, though I like the Germanic girls like Giselle as much as anyone), and importantly, my best black girls sometimes avoid Barra (as they did Leblon) because it is not friendly to black girls.

    2. It is a middle class neighborhood. You've got professors, diplomats, lawyers, and janitors, all co-existing, on central arteries of travel, commerce, and intellectual life of the great megacity of Rio with its 12 million souls. The Brazilian west point is at Urca, nearby. FGV and other Hi power intellectual institutions are nearby. It is on a metro! (You need to get on the metro and stop being driven everywhere, if only because that's how you take in the life of a city). A nice bus from the metro goes west into the best areas of Zona Sul to Gavea, where their is a university, which offers language classes.

    3. Everyone who knows Rio can easily get to Botafogo and do sex work there. It's visually awesome -- Christo, sugar loaf, etc.

    4. it is not Copacabana. Look, people think they have arrived in Rio if they have a penthouse next to Copacobana Palace. Wrong. The water is a sewer if you swim, which you should, for health. The worst of tourism is on display in Copa -- crime, and all the desperate crap that the lower end of the economy entails.

    5. Botafogo, on the other hand has embassies (Portugal), think tanks, centuries old schools for the richest and most powerful of Brazil, and all the good things that come with that.

Carpe Diem. Go to your gawd like a soldier, to a fellow Monger KIA Covid

    Senhor Sperto, Obrigado.

Thanks for the warning. Here in Barra at Transamerica is my Monday (Friday), as I do real work on Friday-Monday morning, and then go back to heavy duty mongering on Monday, when the best girls come back out for the pernoites.

Yes, your warning is timely and I must report the death of a wingman. He was a friend of Chris H. Without saying too much, he was a soldier, and I hereby offer the words of Kipling.

When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains and go to your gawd like a soldier.

I've said, "I will raise a whisky and fuck a Brazilian girl for him" to which Chris H replied, "he loved having a good time. " Chris H also says he had bad asthma from smoking.

So, if you do have a preexisting condition, I suggest waiting until after the vaccine gets to 100% penetration and the world is safer.

I made the choice that I am well enough, and took the risk to take advantage of the 5. 1 USD BRL exchange. I assume I've been exposed. I've done short triathlons as recently as January. I went out to shop, and bought 22 liters of fluids (hydrate or die), with suco going for as low as 2.47 reais for a liter (4 liters), 6 liters of coconut juice (6.9 reais), diet coke, schwebs tonic, etc, etc.

That said, probably best to avoid the super spreader drinking (as pictured in the link from sr sperto), but really, if going to a terma is not a super spreader, well, .

As a mentor and teammate has printed on a coin he carries in his pocket:

    Memento Mori.

"you could leave life right now".

    Carpe diem.

    The Week in Baseball

Sure, but first a word from our advertiser's Vagabundo's Pussy Patrol.

Monday was Halle Berry, a new girl from the not so secret terma. Pernoite, and drinks at Olegario was 400+ 200.

Highlight was R21, a bar at Olegario with nice hookah pipes.

Tuesday was Nina Deponca, 300 pernoite.

Wednesday was Monique / Jada Fire, 300 pernoite. I ordered ice in from a joint near Olegario, along with Jameson's, red bull, and a 12 pack.

Thursday, was Nina Deponca, 300 pernoite.

Friday, I am sleeping alone thank fully.

I did do a little recce of 4 x 4 at 16 h. I popped in briefly and snuck in the back door to the boate, which is open! Praise the lord. I got a number of a 20 year old negra with 1 kid, and it is game on. I didn't even pay the cover. I will be back next week. It's like Feliz Natal for all the mongers of the world who have passed through Rio.

OK, so, the question was, how do the admins of a site like GParena use their cyber to get girls? Like any geeks anywhere. Let your imagination roam. 5 years ago, I made some effort to write on the local boards, and even used them to gain intel to the extent of making my own list of targets before my trips to Rio (a good practice). So, for the dedicated hacker monger, you can get a VPN and get a Brazilian IP and do your cyber even before your dick is in Rio. Once you are here, the preparation will pay off like a intel agent hunting a high value target. Anyone who thinks Russians are the best pro's in the world is nuts; Brazilians have them beat by a country mile. Notice, the best girls never have pics in their whatsapp profile pictures? Well, so back to the subject at hand, the admins of the local sites will post or take down reviews on demand from their preferred girls, who are likely compensating them somehow. I've been in some of these reindeer games. It is a business. There are legalities, like whether one can really 'pimp' legally. I haven't studied the local law, but I understand pimping is illegal, but being a hooker is legal in Brazil. On the edge of this is the cyber punk -- one of the local cyber guys is a one legged Asian dude, who, I imagine isn't objectively that attractive, but he does have this really huuuuge keyboard. You get the idea. But what does Vagabundo know?

Yes, they are. There are tons of them. For every taste and budget. Just read the last 30 pages of this forum.

Also, for a 6-months stay, DEFINITELY read Vagabundo posts about Transamerica (and contact him too if you haven't already).

However my point about gpguia is that it is run by admins in sao paulo.

Therefore it is less influenced by the reindeer games of all the RJ admins (who are working their game with the GDPs).

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I realize they are called Termas here, I just wanted to get str8 to the point I guess. How about in call services? Are they a thing in Rio like they are extensively in Medellin for Example? I don't need to visit a Terma at night if I can hit up incall or outcalls, preferably in nicer areas.

Thanks. If I google for that I don't get it because I'm not located in Brazil.

Gpgia -- I've found a bit skimpy in Rio.

Don't know about ForumX, since it won't let me read without registering, and to register demands a phone number, so screw it.

For those who wants to participate in private parties on New Year there are some options: Morro da Urca, Hotel Pestana Rio Atlantica, Faro Beach Club in Leblon and Clube Monte Líbano.
Pestana charges R$ 800-R$ 2.500 and includes breakfast (and most likely a covid infection)
