I have liberal friends who seem dedicated to parroting this idea that somehow Florida is a COVID disaster while ignoring what's going on in places like New York and California. It's downright bizarre.

According to wikipedia, this is what's going on in Florida:

By late fall, confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose again in Florida, with over 10,000 new cases per day reported on over half the days of December 2020 and 13 of the first 14 days of 2021.

21,015 new cases were reported for December 31 on January 2, the highest daily report for 2020.

Trump also like Stalin was a propaganda machine, spinning lies and conspiracy theories throughout his tenure through defacto state news / Fox News. This included lies about a stolen election, the same which were rejected by the courts including many Republican judges upwards of 60 times. This all culminated in a coup attempt and murders of polices offiicers at the US Capital. That's all of course fundamentally undemocratic.

As to the free speech of conservates, well damn, you have Fox, the NY Post, Brietbart, Alex Jones, and News Max to name a few. You rule talk radio with many a blow hard. This though you don't get to spread violent speech calling for the deaths of public officials. And private internet platforms have every right to get tired of and thus remove your highly inflammatory, and ultimately violence inciting stolen election lies.

Actually the Democratic Party has overseen many successful capitalist economies in recent decades. That would include the dot com boom with balanced federal budget during the Clinton years, and economic revival from the Great Recession under Obama. Your typical Democrat is similar to your typical Republican, as they both advocate a mixed economy with both free market and socialist principles. Examples of the latter would be Medicare, public education, student loans, and anti-trust laws. In a word you are a mediocre at best red baiter, as you lack knowledge of even the basics.

That said, Trump wasn't a Communist, nor was he a Fascist in my view. The existence of some similarities doesn't mean the label fits. Tossing out such buzz words is for people that want to make a splash but lack understanding of the concepts they are talking about. They are also used by politicians that know better, but still use them to win votes from people like you that don't know better. Trump was essentially an autocrat wannabe that tested the restraints applied by our democracy at every turn. Autocracy by the way is fundamental in both Fascism and Communism in practice.

P.S. With all this damning, irrefutable evidence naturally all the Trump faithful can say is "What about Antifa?" Yea what about them? Whataboutism is no more relevant here than it is when three year olds are arguing over crayons. Plus your typical Antifa activist follows Anarchism and calls for the abolishment of police forces and prisons. This is all antithetical to the views of your typical Democrat, though right wing media has attempted to make associations through various debunked conspiracy theories. I agree with you and also do not believe that most of the GOP are racists, etc.Labeling people as racists, misogynistic, and homophobic should be used more sparingly and only where it is a without doubt, especially the racist part as that can ruin people's careers and livelihoods.
