Streets are quiet again at night. My balcony overlooks Avenida 70 and when I first arrived 3 months ago I posted a foto at night showing not one person on the street. Then things normalized over the next few weeks to where it was almost like Pre-Covid, except everyone was wearing a mask. Now it feels like a giant step backwards. Usually I close my sliding glass door to sleep at night because of the noise coming off the Avenue. Not necessary last night. I am flying home in less than a week. I will return when most folks are vaccinated and the curfews are lifted.

The girls are coming and going from my hotel without interference. But if it is your first trip to Medellin I would not come now. A buddy of mine who knows Medellin just canceled. The good news is things should change for the better once mass vaccinations begin. And the time line for that I would expect to be sooner than later.

I agree with some of what you have said and am trying to gauge how the way I roll will fit in with the new measures being instigated. Having the daytimes open is huge, versus being shuttered inside for the long weekends called "puentes" here. I have purchased using points with Jetblue for departure next Saturday, if I cancel, the points go back into my account and the taxes are refunded.

I may leave, or not leave. Not sure yet, and like you don't like what's happening, and the other board members who have been here since the onset of the Pandemic know the drill here. There's not much notice when the lockdowns are coming and they extend them on a moments notice. I suspect that by no later than next Thursday they will continue with the weekend lockdowns, and if that's the case I might fly out on Saturday and stay away a while until the curfews are lifted like you intend to do.

As far as most Colombians being vaccinated any time soon, along with the new strains, and the effectiveness of the vaccines, I don't see Colombia being able to vaccinate it's way out of the Pandemic if that's even possible given the vaccine availability for them. It's very concerning what's happening in Brazil as most people are aware of, and even Chile which has vaccinated approximately 14% of it's population almost on par with the USA is struggling, so the next wave may be a perfect storm, and I apologize to others who consider this a doomsday forecast, but it's just a thought and I hope I'm wrong.

As far as other board members coming down, and if they only have weekend lockdowns, but the daytimes are open all days, then this may be just be fine for some, and a no go for others depending on how they roll.

I also would not recommend anyone coming down here who hasn't been vaccinated. And my apologies to the other board members that might take offense to this but, it's just my opinion for what it's worth. I'm lucky that I've been vaccinated so I have been operating like I did here exactly like before the Pandemic and am on the METRO everyday. For guys who are here or are coming, if you haven't been vaccinated stay off the METRO and from riding the buses. What doesn't make sense is the situation with the main METRO line that runs North to South, for the past week they have reduced the trains in each direction to every 15 to 20 minutes, and now the cars are packed like sardines with social distancing being like six inches apart. So much for all the footprints painted on the floors, and the City besides regulating the flow into the METRO stations causing long waits should of been adding more cars versus reducing them. Doesn't make sense at all if they are trying to "reduce the spread".

So I'm not trying to scare anyone away, and I'm sure I will get some pushback on my thoughts, but am just trying to logically put things in perspective at least how I see them.

Guys when I land in Bogota I have 2 hours and 20 min to catch my connecting flight to MDE. The last time that was not enough time as the immigration queue was crazy slow and I missed my flight. Does anyone know if they have an express immigration service that you can pay for in advance like some other airports? I checked on the airport website but couldn't see anything.

Can't help you WT69 I only got laid in my apartments at Energy and San Peter. I tell my friends in USA Getting laid cheap in Medellin is like ordering pizza at home. It's really that easy. I was just there and things were pretty quiet from Friday to Tuesday, even during the day. I went to the airport at 3 am And the streets were empty. Girls were well aware of curfew and made sure to be gone and home before.

I'm good I'm going to make a wild guess--nobody pays any attention to the curfew. For the average person -- who cares? We have a law here everybody has to wear a mask guess what no one's even got a ticket.

I just returned from a short trip to MDE. It is my first trip back since I had my car accident in December and fractured two vertabrae. I arrived without a PCR test three days ago from the US. Colombian immigration told me that I need to quarantine. Then I caught an Uber to my airbnb and just had fun.

It's all fun until immigration decides to call you to make sure that you are in quarantine, or better yet they pay you a personal visit and you are out. That's going to be one hard and expensive lesson.

It depends on where you are. In November on the night they shut down La 70 early, there were cops everywhere, stopping everyone, and the streets were quickly deserted. I imagine it will be the same in Parque Lleras.

However, there's certain to be parties going on in Bello and Manrique.

I am not disagreeing with your assessment but I am wondering, since essentially restrictions are put into place to keep groups of people from congregating and here in the USA some "essential" people are still allowed to get out, like here in the USA when we have restrictions restaurants are still allowed to deliver. I wonder if Rappi and the restaurants still keep going after curfew?

here is what it says translated to English:

"Curfew and dry law hours are extended in Antioquia: The governor (e) of Antioquia, Luis Fernando Surez, confirmed that given the increase in covid-19 cases and the occupation of 90% of the ICU beds in the department, it was decided to reinforce the restrictive measures that will be in force in the coming days. After meeting with the Ministry of Health and the mayors of all Antioquia municipalities, the departmental president in charge indicated that:

"from Wednesday, March 31, there will be a curfew between 5:00 in the afternoon and 5:00 in the morning of the day following".

"This curfew will apply to the 125 municipalities of Antioquia in a generalized manner, it will start from tomorrow, Wednesday (March 31) and will go until Easter Monday, April 5, " explained the governor (e).

Better stock up on groceries. My question would be do they allow the Rappi deliveries during these curfews? Restaurants operating for delivery?

I went on a walking tour today and they informed me of this curfew as well. This totally sucks as I came into Medellin this week for some mongering and for the most part it's been under curfew. Places are closing early and girls aren't coming out in swarms. Fortunately I have some girls' numbers but I guess I'll just have to make that work.
