As far as grabbing pros or non pros have you guys ever just paid in USD?? Instead of COP?? My thought was maybe they would be more pleased seeing that USD. I've been on LAC and have a bunch of girls lined up also some that want to show me around and hopefully can turn into a fun time I am set to leave on the 18th and I am renting a air bnb.

There will be some pros and non-pros who will love to have USD, but you won't find many of them around. The reality is that USD are totally worthless in Medellin, as nobody accepts them for payment and when exchanging them to Pesos at either a bank or exchange house the rate of exchange sucks. The higher end providers and non-pros, those with Passports who have travelled internationally are the ones that would be happy with USD, but there won't be many of them around that you will encounter.

As the saying goes, I'd rather be lucky than good. The shutdown started the day after I left. I had a great three months but it was time to leave. I accomplished most of my goals, went to the mountaintop and saw the casa being built for Catgirl and I by her family. That was a great cross cultural experience that I will never forget, staying with her family in a small pueblo barely accessible by 4 WD that sustained itself by growing coffee on the mountainside.

My ranked line-up served me well during whatever curfews and quarantines came our way. I could not believe how cheap it was to get Haz's nose pierced, including the hardware, 5. 000 COP or $1. 38. I thought my Spanish was failing me and I kept asking if that was the correct price, jaja.

Two of the fotos are at my favorite El Centro bar which is actually a street corner one block over in between San Antonio and Parque Berrio metro stations. Medellin is where my heart is and I am back in the states taking all the necessary steps to move there permanently. I assume most of us will be vaccinated by then.

A very bad idea. As Mr E said, most think in pesos, and their day to day life is in pesos, its the dumb Gringos that train them in dollars. If a chica quotes $ its already a red flag, whether you redirect or drop them is your call. But a gringo doing it is as dumb as it gets.

I don't think they would be pleased to have to go exchange the dollars into pesos for a number of reasons besides the inconvenience.

To be honest, it never occurred to me about buying an apartment in Medellin even though I've been going there 2-3 a times a year for the past 8 years. I'm not retiring anytime soon (just turned 40 this year), but after staying in Colombia for 3 months from Nov /2020-Feb /2021, I could definitely imagine myself living there full time. I have 2 passports so I can make use of 180 days each without needing a visa or becoming a tax resident. If all things go well, it'll just give me extra motivation to work harder and retire earlier.

I'll definitely keep you posted about how things turn out. At worst case, I'll still be in paradise for 2 months with or without succeeding in property purchase. And I'm not buying to get extra rental income because nobody fucking chicas in my place except for me haha.

My Spanish is fluent, but not when it comes to Colombian real estate law and fine print. I'm giving myself about 2 months to get this done and will be looking at apartment complexes with pool / gym that are less than 5 years old or brand new construction projects that are move in ready within a year.

I'll be staying in Niquia and Las Cabanas neighborhoods the whole time. There's a reason lots of hot girls come from Bello and I'll be in the thick of it. Just remember, Bello is dangerous so don't come out here haha. Don't worry, I'll post chica stories to make my posts more entertaining. BTW, couple of the properties I'm looking at are below, less than 10 minute walk from mall and metro station. Around $80 k USD for brand new 3 bed /2 ba. Used and under 5 yrs old could be had for $70 k USD. Curfew or no curfew won't affect my mongering activities in Bello. Hope I can literarily own a piece of paradise! Wish me luck!

My final lockdown in Medellin began at 10:30 AM on Monday, and lasted until 10:30 AM on Tuesday this week when I departed Medellin, and it wasn't a Government mandated lockdown, but a self imposed lockdown of debauchery.

My Tomboy and I spent 24 hours together, and it was like being on another planet, and going back in time on a time machine.

I felt as though I was over forty years younger than I am, and being with someone so sensous and loving at my age cannot be described with words.

The experience is etched in my mind, being totally priceless, and something I will always remember as long as I live.

I agree it is hard to describe but you know it when your in the middle of these surreal experiences and it really does set the bar for all others that will follow down the road.

To be fair your experience, my experiences, don't happen often, I should say they don't happen often enough but when they do I am like "damn I am one lucking dude."

So what does this mean? Are restaurants open or only takeout / domcillios. I have heard that taxis are fine to get girls to your place? Can anyone in MDE NOW help me understand. I fly out Friday morning on Spirit. My biggest fear is being stuck in MDE.
