Posts: 120Holiday Inn Express, Soi Buakhao
Stayed here one night. It is within walking distance to Soi Boomerang or Soi Diana, or just hop on the baht bus.
Liked everything about this place, considering the price. Breakfast included, and pretty decent. Underground parking garage, which was handy for my driver (Nams Taxi), so she could just wait in the lobby for me.
Didn't spend much time there, so don't have alot to say, but I recommend this place for a quick stay. I prefer other hotel or condo for longer stay.

I got a bit tired of sifting through all the hotels listed on sites for girl-friendly hotels, and cross-referencing various things such as distance to beach, noise levels etc on TripA. So I just checked out a Mercure and it serves the basic purpose of this visit. In the TA Q&A sections several questions are typically asked about the girl-friendliness of hotels, and it seems the chains are too, though they don't get a mention on the girl-friendly hotel sites I've read. I chose this mainly for my budget. If one reads through some of the popular monger hotel reviews on TA or Booking, there is often a deal-breaker such as noise, air-con problems, strange smells or similar.

Posts: 3452Last night, I had a lady over to my condo for drinks. She has a new Farang husband, and my rule is I don't do ladies with Farang boyfriends or husbands. So, no hanky panky. After drinks, we went to Area 39 in TreeTown, where she invited 4 ladies, plus her Thai boyfriend, and I paid for a bottle of Sangsom, and a huge beer dispenser. 3 of the ladies were described as her daughters, quite lovely.
The drill is that I can her to come back to my condo for drinks in the future, and she can bring one of the ladies, again, no hanky panky. But then I can have the lady come alone, at a later date, as a barfine. A great recruiting system for me.
Oh, if you were wondering if I fuck ladies with Thai husbands, yeah, they all have Thai husbands unless they are gay or really old.

Thanks for reply mate, your on spot as I want to enjoy lap swimming rather than sunbathing. 25 m up is all welcome and with regards to budget lets say in the region of 1500 Thai baht daily. All other requirements are pretty normal. Nice modern apartment with possible views. I'm not doing any cooking or laundry so I don't mind about cutlery, washing machines or things.

[QUgzy69;2693986]Besides hotels and guesthouses which condos or private residences has large swimming pools available for guests? Any area considered from Naklua to Jomtien with a 30 day stay. Stayed viey Talay 6 next to Central pre Covid but looking for other place. [ / QUOTE].
There are View Talay 1,2,5, 7 all in Jomtien which do rent furnished condos, generally for 30 days minimum, but some do it by the day as well. That is the route I have taken for my next trip, I got my rental thru [URL]Dancewatchers.com[ / URL]- see their web site.

Also it has been mentioned a couple posts below the Grand Avenue Residence condominium is also guest friendly. Seems to be a similar layout to the Centra.

Either the hotel hasn't opened up the higher floors yet or, more of a potential red flag, they are refurbishing those floors with the resultant potential for disturbance to the rest of the hotel.
On a side issue, the last report I saw on Beech Road Soi 8 (and Soi 7) was back in March and Sir Lancelot said not a lot was happening there - obviously that was a few weeks ago and I admit I haven't wandered down them to check since but whenever I've passed by on Beech Road even the bars on Beech Road itself (places like Lovely Corner, Poppy 2 and the complex with 6 or so bars on the other corner of Soi 8) have been very quiet. You might want to reconsider your location.

There are places like Bangkok Pattaya Hospital on Sukhumvit currently charging 1090 baht for results and paperwork in two hours? I believe one can also obtain one at Pattaya Memorial on 2nd Road I've not known the cost. I recently got a lead on a lab near Jomtien website that said to test for 490 baht with proper paperwork one should also check with your airline and any stopovers for requirements?

Posts: 838Departure Covid Test for Re-Entry to the USA
Now that restrictions have been eased a bit, I'm considering a return to Pattaya next month.
My concern is the need for a negative Covid test to re-enter the USA after my stay in Pattaya.
How is this requirement best accomplished? Are they offered at the BKK airport? If so, cost, and timing for test results?
Any others who have encountered a similar need, I'd appreciate your input as to how the process works.
Many thanks.

Posts: 3452Cape Dara Resort in Naklua. A great place for a romantic getaway, if you want to take a girl out of the bar. The hot tub is about the right size for fun.
