I was sitting at home back in early November making plans for this 'trip' lets call it, maybe 'this move' better describes the situation. Now I tried the bar scene here and there even though I decided not to stay in the heart of the action, wanted a good reason not to go out and spend extra money on lady drinks and all of that. Do you really think a gov't employee in a hazmat suit who told you that you have covid is really going to just let you walk away? There are camera's everywhere, eventually they will track you down if you try to run (or walk away). In one stroke of the pen the Govna stopped most foreigners from spending money at the bars. Yeah you can still see some guys hanging around but you'd hope they were smart enough to test themselves at home first before going out to the public testing areas.

Now would I rather be home than stuck in a foreign country having sex with all sorts of hot young women for what amounts to a few beers back home? Not a chance. I'm just glad I got here right before things started to go south. My hope is they do shut down the country. Right about when my visa is coming due. The USA has had Omicron at least 10 days before Thailand, so I look for an Omicron peak in Thailand about January 20. Since they don't test much, that peak will be less than 20,000 cases. The question is how many hospital beds will be filled?

You obviously haven't taken a take home rapid test before. The instructions literally tell you to just swap the inner walls of your nostril.

"Gently insert the SWAB 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch into the nostril, depending on the size of the person's nose. Firmly rub the SWAB in a circular motion around the inside wall of EACH NOSTRIL at least 4 times.

I don't dispute the instructions but the capacity of each one to follow them. Anything uncomfortable to the individual will see his reaction. If it is done by someone else he can ignore your up (nostril) uncomfortableness and proceed as instructed, no matter what, but if it is DYI I doubt 100% will do it as required. I for one.

When I did my PCR tests, administered by a nurse only once I was ok, the others were a "pain". It seemed never ending and up to my brain. It's a psychological matter, I know.

Wait a minute; You are planning to go to Brazil and bring your Thai ex or her twin sister with you? That's like taking sand to the beach, unless you are planning to go up North and relax on the Dune Beaches between Recife and Fortaleza.
