Maybe its different for Pensionado visa renewals. The Pensionado-Rentista renewal I got this summer is good for 2 years.

Yes for renewals they have been issuing them for a period greater than one year, however for the two guys I know who applied for the first time this year it's only been for a year, which supposedly will change in October.

As far as becoming a Citizen after five years of being a resident, well it requires you pass some type of tests, I think language and history, no different than becoming a US Citizen, however I think if your older than 65 they waive the testing requirement.

Regardless, they've made the Country less friendly for business investments getting rid of the investors Visa in October, and with the new President, new tax schemes will be going into place.

A few years ago they had a Wealth Tax based on worldwide income in place that expired, and Petro is coming up with a new scheme.

Or are you boring her senseless with your translator app? Are you clean and well trimmed (both heads) and hygienic? That will make a difference to her.

I think I failed at my Facebook attempts for my week vacation. I added women who had devil horns and hearts and stuff and even added names that were given from nice board members, but out of the 94 Friends I have only two messaged me back and both wanted in excess of 600 mil. I'm not the most attractive 50 year old, but I'm average. I think I'm going to stick to the casas mentioned here and maybe go on the websites too. Maybe next trip I'll change my Facebook approach but I think it's too late to fix now.

That way she doesn't know if you are a visitor or a resident or what. I usually say I've been living in Medellin for 3 years but I don't think you need to say that. I usually get a response saying something like: Yes, when would you like to plan a visit. I don't usually initiate a discussion about pricing but I always plan on paying the FB girl 200 + taxis. Some will bring up the price, most of the girls I talk to don't. Some guys think it is better to bring it up to preclude any kind of misunderstanding. Your choice.

What you are saying is that attractive girls = shitty service. This is not always the case. Ugly girls can provide shitty service as well. Service has nothing to do with how a girl looks. Service depends on various factors. Her attitude, vibes, chemistry between you and her, ambiance of the place / venue, etc. Guys who say hot girls provide shitty service just don't know any better, they don't have what it takes (game, looks, money, etc) to score a hottie, and not only to score, but to make her like or love them, because great sex can only be possible if there is a great connection. I happen to believe looks and performance have a correlation coefficient of zero. That means it's completely random but a lot of mongerers personalize, project, and are understandably biased about such experiences. Maybe its different for Pensionado visa renewals. The Pensionado-Rentista renewal I got this summer is good for 2 years.

I assume it was only 2 years because after that, one should be eligible for the Resident instead of Migrant class of visa. Five years of M gets you an R. Five years of R and you become eligible for citizenship and a passport.

But I know other changes are coming into effect in Oct regarding property purchase visas. Currently if you spend above $150k you can get an R. After October you can only get an M. So its not a bad idea to buy property now and get the visa and a great exchange rate.

Probably the biggest change is with the Pensioners Visa. I know two guys that got them this year and they were only issued for a year versus three years under the new regulations. Also, regardless of the Visa you obtain, you must have Colombian Health Insurance, and that's a whole topic in itself.

And there is no longer a way someone can show up with approximately 250,000 $ USD, invest the money in a business or property, and within six months be a Colombian resident. Residency now requires being in Country five years before you can even apply for residency.

In your case, perhaps they will issue you a special "Mongering Visa."
