Paying for the first casual 'meet & greet' has never worked for me. As a previous poster said, our time is more valuable than theirs. It's conceptually no different from paying someone to attend a job interview. That said, I'll always be generous in covering cab fare (E. G. If its Rs 500, I'll give them 1000) and take them to a classy place, so they know I can afford the sugar lifestyle. I have paid more for a casual meet (5-6 k), if we have already done a VC and I have suggested a real meet (non sexual, but with some display of affection) to get more comfortable. Small gifts are also a nice.
