Transport to get around will be available easily and cheaply using Bolt, Grab or InDriver.

Geesh. My very first Thai pull was from Rock Hard (had come by van from Penang) almost 30 years ago. Had forgotten the name of the bar until your jog. Of course the condom broke ...Thanks for the memory.

Called X20 it is below on Bangla of Soi Seadragon not sure about distance but quite clear signage but you have to pass through a small Soi.

So question is where are the hot ones that I want to give all my money to? I haven't seen that type of ladies since I arrived early December.
I stayed Christmas night in Patong, and there is talent around.

But its late evening when they seem to appear, and in groups, so they're not bargirls or freelancers.

Check out White Room after midnight.

There are no street life hook ups like Pattaya in Kata.

If you're looking for Kata Beach hotels on the water or close to it, then get one on the northern end, the Karon end, as that is where the night life is.

The southern end of Kata is pretty much devoid of nightlife punting opportunities.

Wonder if its worth to hire a taxi full time to take me around at night.

What would a fair price to pay to rent a taxi from say 9 pm to 3 am?

I'm used to walking around while travelling, so a 1 - 2 km walk at once is quite doable. I'm more concerned about safety.

    1. Any likelihood of getting mugged / robbed while you are walking along an isolated path?

    2. What are the chances of a stray car or motor cycling crashing in to you? Are the main roads around Rawai well lit at night?

I know you probably can't put a likelihood, but has this kinda of thing happened before or happens regularly?

I see myself walking up and down Soi Saiyuan, or inbetween Bank Bar, Laguna Plaza & Vijitt Resort at night.

Thanks again for all your helpful replies. If I make it to Rawai, first 3 rounds are on me.
The walking is generally safe, with the cahnace or mugging very very low, and I've never heard of it either in Rawai.

For me, the major risk you face being traffic seeing you as street lighting is minimal.

From Vijit to Laguna is very safe to do, tho I'the be more concerned about Vijit to Bank, or Bank to Laguna later at night.

Turned on Thai Friendly recently and found lots of freelancers on there. A lot of them leave their LINE or whatsapp in their profile. I'm near patong so all the girls I talked with were in that area. ST was 1. 5 to 3 k.

Generally the bargirls will offer to take you short distances on their motorbikes.

My advice is don't do it EVER.

They are most likely drunk, and if you have an accident there is no insurance coverage.

There are no motorbike taxis in Rawai.

There are occasionally a few tuk tuks that have come with rides from Patong or Karon / Kata.

What there is are some taxis.

But most people use ride hailing such as Grab or InDrive.

Or get the name and contact number of a van driver from when you have used them in Patong area.

Take a few motor bike taxis and get their line number and use them. I had two I used when it Phuket and they never declined coming to get me.
