No, the last thing you want in your hotel room is a dead puta.

Correct answer. I've seen the story several times about the guy switching beers so the girl drugged herself. I doubt it ever happened. And it's definitely the last thing you want to do. Get rid of the girl, call the police if you must, but don't try to drug her.

Think about it. I'm 6'4" and 225#. I can guarantee, if a girl is in my room she's at least 110# lighter. Chances are she will use enough of the drug to make sure I go down, almost certainly a dangerous overdose. Put that same amount in a person half my size and there's a good chance I'm dealing with a dead girl. Even if she just gets part of the dosage, what do you do with an unconscious girl who needs medical attention? And how will the police respond?

1st Time Poster - 2nd Trip to Medellin

First time poster here. Hoping to get some advice. Been mongering since '97 or so, mostly here in the US and have had a few sketchy experiences but nothing terrible. Have had 1 experience overseas and it was fine. Not great but not bad either.

I recently visited Medellin and Cartagena in a capacity that I wasn't able to engage in any mongering but I saw the opportunities first hand as I was able to go out in parque Lleras and in old city Cartagena. I have an opportunity to go back to Medellin very soon, like next 10 days or so and am planning on going for 3 nights. I've tried to read as much as I possibly could and generally do not try to be on any radar but this is my first time traveling out of the country where mongering will be a primary focal point of the trip and I'll be solo, so I want to be as cautious as possible. I actually read VJ's report below and would love to meet up with any of you who may be there, so I'm not totally alone in navigating this trip. Plus I think there's probably a little more safety in numbers.

I've read quite a bit about New Life and some of the strip clubs in centro. Thoughts on those places? I spent a little bit of time in centro last trip but didn't even notice those places. Obviously I saw the street girls but I've heard New Life and the strip clubs are a slightly higher caliber. Can anyone comment on their experiences there? Also I wouldn't mind a massage and then some action, I've read some good things about some of the massage parlors.

Last time I stayed in an Airbnb for a few nights and there was lots of signage about no sex tourism but I don't think they would have known since there was just a door with a code. I also stayed at an American hotel chain for a night and I think they would have stopped anyone from coming in altho I could be wrong. I have not booked a place to stay yet and would absolutely love some good ideas. I've read, it's better to not bring someone from parque Lleras back to your Airbnb or hotel but rather an hourly love motel. But I haven't seen any real advice on where there is one and how much these cost etc etc. So any advice here would be greatly appreciated especially in regards to where to bring someone you meet while your out and definitely where to stay because I'd like to get something booked before I arrive.

Finally any other advice people with experience would like to offer I'm all ears. I'm a frequent traveler, I've been all over the world except to Asia, I've also been a frequent monger, for over 20 years, but I'm also very cautious. Being drugged or robbed is a big concern I have for this trip. Planning on taking as many precautions as possible including deleting all financial apps from my phone and trying to be as aware as possible. Not leaving drinks unattended, not drinking alcohol or other drinks around girls. I'm not looking to develop ongoing mongering relationships with anyone or spend hours with anyone, just enjoy the sex and go (or have them go). Thanks and if you are going to be in Medellin soon, let me know, I'd love to meet some fellow mongers to go out with.

This is the wiser perspective. It is sometimes difficult to see past momentary instincts of anger and vengeance.

    Suggestion

    Guys,

I want to say thank you. The recent reports have sufficiently scared the shit out of me. Haha and I don't scare easily. Those that know me know I'm not the most cautious monger. I'm not particularly foolish (most of the time) but I operate with little fear. I use caution and trust my gut. But based on these reports, and some real time info from some amigas living in Medellin, I do think we're in a time where crimes against mongers are elevated. As others have said, we are attractive targets.

I haven't really thought this through so I'm just throwing an idea out there. Many of us, myself included, travel alone. When I'm in country, even many of my "real life" friends and family do not know my location. But I'm wondering if there is an opportunity to help each other out. As I think through this, I'm not sure it would work. Nor would it necessarily prevent anything. But I wonder if there is something we can do to "check in" with another monger in the country. My activities probably put me at a higher risk. I love going to the bars, drinking and partying with the girls. I enjoy that very much and without that, I'm not sure how frequently I would visit. I'm aware of the risk and I'm willing to take those risks. One thing I do is befriend the bouncers or doormen. They will absolutely look out for you if you treat them well and offer a small tip. (I can give examples! LOL) I'm not one of those obnoxious American drunks at all. I'm low key, I don't make a scene, etc. But I have had a night or two where I probably should have been robbed or drugged because I partied a little too hard.

My suggestion: is there any value in texting or messaging a fellow in-country monger to say here are my plans, here's when I should be back, and if you don't hear from me by a certain time, call the hotel staff for a wellness check? Like I said, I can envision many challenges to this. But I do want to think out of the box. We got a good thing in MDE and I worry that this uptick in druggings and robberies is a trend that can upset the apple cart.

Criminals prey on you because of where you visit and who you fuck. Typical? LOL

The only time I drank alcohol with women was when we were at a restaurant and I never left the table until we were ready to go. Don't get drunk with them, let them drink if they want, but keep your senses. Also, drinking alcohol can lead to whiskey dick and I'm here to fuck them, not get drunk with them.

This is the utmost important advice you can follow. They can't drug you by blowing powder in your face or getting it absorbed through your skin. You have to ingest it.

Finally, get a place that requires ID for entrance, order all transportation yourself (I exclusively used Uber including picking them up and dropped off), and don't leave them unattended for too long. I avoided getting Rappi (food delivery) because that would mean I had to go downstairs to get it. But if I did, I would 100% tell her to come down with me. No way I'm leaving someone in my apartment by themselves. Instead, I ordered room service or went to a restaurant..
Good advice about not drinking in the apartment. I have a question did any of them spent the night with you? I know obviously that wouldn't be the smartest thing to do but I'm wondering how many people here have done it with out any problems.

Most risks can be managed effectively, but the first step is to be fully cognizant that the hobby carries a lot of risks in the best of circumstances.
And I'm very familiar with the Cuba Dave story. Nothing to do with organized crime there, just a test of their legislation against promotion of sex tourism (and a few other tidbits thrown in). I think the link between organized crime and prostitution is mainly true in the US, to a lesser extent in other places that have more liberal laws. And in CR connected with non-organized crime more commonly. Guys pimping their girlfriends / wives and certainly pimping the illegal residents in some cases.

The organized crime part is that there are standing offers to otherwise independent girls to deliver guys to them. Not saying that these organized crime groups control the girls, or many of them in any case. But these deals are on a transactional basis. You get x dollars / pesos if you can get a guy drugged and then call us.

I think that part of the organized approach has increased a lot in the recent past.

Before calling others "naive" please link us to the Colombian legal statute that confirms that offering sex for money (mongering) is illegal in Colombia. Pimping is illegal there, but that's a different matter altogether. Also Cubadave was charged under some obscure statute which prohibits using the media in ways that harm the reputation of the country, not mongering or pimping or anything like that. Finally, if you are talking about this asswipe, Thomas Renno from the Bay area who was nabbed at the airport in Medellin, 2019, he was up to way more than soliciting sex. WHOM he was soliciting was the issue, not the soliciting itself.

Please do some research before engaging your mouth, or just drop out. That would benefit the community while saving others the time it takes to correct nonsense.

I had a great time in Medellin. Met up with a few ISG members and we went out every night. I'm going back next month to hook up with these same women.
    Good advice, VJ.

It is in their best interest that they not kill very many, but they are likely using the home made versions of scopolamine as it can be manufactured there direct from a tree that grows in the areas including Bogota, and dosage may be uncertain.
