The cart vendors and their loudspeakers were the worst of the Plaza for me, good riddance. It's nice to have more of the girls inside the barrier. There was still more congestion than previously along the side and behind the church as of yesterday. Does anyone know if Lleras has a barrier? I think I remember it was supposed to be set up on March 31.

I have seen vendors inside for at least a week. Most I think are licensed and wear a vest to indicate so. This has been going on for a long time for street food vendors. Most of them wear an official vest. I did notice the few vendors between the Casino and Zona Rosa didn't wear vest so I don't know what is going on there.

As for bicycle, there are quite a few, most walk their bike into the plaza then starting riding once inside.

It seems the VIVE energy put a stop to the large vendors with cart that carry large amount of the product and sold it at more than 50% discount of what supermarket like Exito and small vendor sell. Haven't seen one around for quite a while.

It's been awhile since I've visited Medellin. Is the hotel in front of Licoexpress one that I can pay by the hour and allows for girls? Are there any other motels near Parque Lleras?

There must be a reason I never read on this forum about a guy so called vetting a chick beforehand then he calls it off. I was in the Plaza today for the first time in nearly a week. I immediately noticed the area inside the barrier continues to get back to how it was pre-barrier. Most of the girls are back along with some of their deadbeat boyfriends. I even saw a couple of guys go flying through the crowd on bicycles. Just like old times. I snapped the photo from the metro as I was leaving. Two workmen who are out of the frame were reinforcing the barrier with metal strapping. A week or so ago I was near the church when one of the barriers went crashing to the ground because the bits connecting them to each other were starting to wear out. Policeman hurried over to stand it up again. Meanwhile, the entrances are pretty much wide open with a couple of police at each of them who are much less attentive than when the checkpoints were first established. I snapped the photo because I was surprised to see a vendor cart inside the barrier for the first time since it was put up.

I am going to guess that because of all the past heavy duty police presence, there have been very few disturbances and that the Police have reduced their forces. I'm kind of divided whether I liked it more pre-barricades when it was more of a "circus / carnival scene" versus a " tourism restricted area". OR maybe something in the middle as you have described. Regardless it's kind of like a moving target how things change, no different than how Parque Lleras was pre-pandemic, versus the shifting of a lot of the workers on to Calle 10 since the Pandemic.

One thing for sure is that there is no consistency at these two SW areas, but it makes you wonder how things would be today in Centro if there had not been a Pandemic. In fact, if there had been no Pandemic there would be a lot less foreign mongers in Colombia. And with Thailand basically back to pre-Covid times, and other Asian countries, I see less mongers here starting later this year, especially from about December this year into March next year.

However, since a lot of mongers, specifically all the SEA guy's who have come and sampled what Colombia has to offer, many won't be going back to SEA.

Finding girls on Facebook takes a little time and effort. First, you need to be a little familiar with Facebook and how it works. Then you need to find a few girls that are actually in Medellin. There are two easy ways to get started. You need to start with one or two known girls in Medellin. If you go through the threads, a few names are mentioned. If you read trip reports on other mongering websites for Southeast Asia, you can pick up a few more names. If you go to the FB profile of known nightclubs and bars in Medellin, you can see the names of a number of girls in Medellin. Make friend requests of those girls and then start looking through the names of their friends if visible or who is commenting on their posts. Once you have a single name of a young attractive girl in Medellin, you can build on that and your friends list starts to grow.

But to do it right, it takes some time. It is not something you can do in a few hours and there is no one place on Facebook where there is a list of girls open to pay for play.

Over the last few years, I've had good luck in finding a rare gem among the street walkers who gravitate around Parque Lleras (and more recently, on Calle 10, where most of the action has shifted) --including a couple of chicas who proved to be long-term keepers. Usually I've been in Poblado for other business followed by a quick swing by the Parque area just for the window-shopping titillation. On occasion, on spotting a real looker with a good sexual vibe, I would collect a WhatsApp contact for possible follow-up come another day--like you, having no interest in a love motel quickie.

Most always the lady is happy either to just exchange contact info on the spot or to join you for a drink and the opportunity to vet her face-to-face. It's best to have identified a relatively quiet (Reggaeton free) nearby cafe in advance. Back when most of the SWs congregated on the corner of Parque Lleras near Gustos, I would sometimes have the chica of choice join me on a bench inside the park for a more leisurely and private chat/vetting.

Pretty rare to find english speaking chicas in Medellin especially the chicas that do tricks. If that's what you're looking to find I'd recommend Jaco, CR or Panama City. In both places I've run into Colombian chicas that speak decent english. I guess they go to those places to earn a premium with their language ability.

Boy, was I disappointed in the service. Covered BJ is standard and most girls in the "casas" (brothels) won't kiss. The women are very attractive to be sure. Colombianas are the best looking latinas overall, in my experience, next to the women of Argentina, who are really something else, but incredibly bitchy and my punting experiences in Buenos Aires was the worst. But, that's another story.

This is not universal. YMMV is the name of the game. Over half the casa girls I've been with kissed (maybe not as passionately as a semipro or nonpro). I don't think I've ever been with one who didn't give me BBBJ for a little extra. I even got anal from the first casa girl I ever tried before the pandemic (of course for an extra).

The fact I speak Spanish probably at least partially explains why I fared better than you did. Learning or improving your Spanish elevates Colombia to another level.
