If that is their reasoning it is obvious they have not seen all the single mothers that foreigners left behind in other countries as well as their own. Just finished reading an article about it in Philippines. When a chick tells me about how bad local men are I say all men and all women are the same. It does not matter where they come from. You are just not used to a foreign man's bullshit yet. Besides that, it should be pretty easy getting along with a mf that is on vacation. The problems start when you have to see each other everyday or live together. Back in the day I used to mess with a Filipina chick and she would call her American husband Noriega because he was so tough on her.

For me it's because damn near every girl tells me that Colombian men are dogs, with the exception of their father or brother (s) of course. Perhaps they say it because it's what I want to hear, but many of them have the stories to back it up. On the other hand the worst 'treatment' I hear about foreigners is usually them not tipping or having bad hygeine LOL.

A lot of women gravitate toward men that treat them poorly, and this is cross cultural. Some claim to want "nice guys," and may experiment with that but ultimately return to the familar and what they find exciting.

As you are in fact their grandfather's age, that's what you want to think but it's self-delusion. To them it's like eating a bad meal for money, and if married to grandpa they are very likely to cheat with men they are attracted to.

Also one doesn't need to live in Colombia to provide birthday gifts and the like or even fill the role of "novio. " Many have a number of foreign men with this designation while the real novio is close to their age and Colombian. In fact good spending novios from afar are surely often preferred as they have to fuck them less.

Why do tourists always have the idea that local guys treat chicks bad but foreigners treat them well? This is a common bullshit idea in damn near every thread. There are locals that treat chicks good and there are foreigners that treat chicks like shit.

The statements regarding the mansion are 100% not true. First of all, the mansion is run by Robert and Alexa. Second, they charge the girls nothing to visit (daytime or night). They do require daytime ones call in advance to get a slot, assigned sparingly. Third, there are no 'room fees' (to who?) but instead the rooms are rented as regular guest house rooms to visitors.

Spot on information from DiscoverFL. Only thing I will add: those slots have almost dried up. For various reasons, they are severely limiting the volume of girls during the day. That's sad because despite what's been reported here, the daytime action was sufficient. In the past couple years, you might have 5-10 girls hanging out. It was a low-pressure, relaxed environment, which is my style. Now? They are severely restricting girls during the day and they are scheduling them out weeks in advance. The result: fewer choices and girls far more anxious to cash in on "their" day.

I agree with you and the majority of people who post stuff don't really understand Latino culture (at least how it applies to Colombia). If you are here for 2 weeks, not many girls will want to start a relationship that isn't compensation based. I mean after-all, Even if you can speak some Spanish you won't be around to give her gifts on her birthday. You won't be around to buy her that new pair of shoes. Men are the providers (in this culture) and if you aren't going to be here to help out, she isn't likely to be interested.

OTOH if you do live here, speak Spanish and can be available to take her to dinner at a nice restaurant or maybe a weekend trip to Guatape or San Jeronimo or someplace else. Girls are groomed to find a stable man who can be a productive member of the family. Mothers tell their daughters. "it is just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is with a poor man". I think its because the type of girl that gravitates towards foreigners usually talks shit about the locals. I agree its across the board of good and bad treatment. But that is where the stereotype originates from.

Hell I've been to Taco Bell in America where the cashier was 18 and was a solid 9 with a brick house body. I thought to myself I would pay her 200 for a hour. She would have to work over 2 days there to make that.

NOt sure what a 9 is. I assume its what you consider a very good looking girl. If the girl is not having regular sex by 18 in Colombia, then she is in the minority. A huge proportoin of them already have (broken) families by that age. And that is often the reason they work in sex. And am not sure what white skin has to do with tourists.

I am searching for affordable airbnb / hotel near el poblado meets following criteria:

- Guest (Chica) Friendly (no hidden cost).

- Have 24 hours security guards / front desk who will check for ID going in / going out.

Where would that be? There is no such filters in airbnb.

Hotel Du Parc is in between Parque Lleras and Parque Poblado. Usually you can get it for $100/ nt (breakfast included) and it is pretty nice. They check ID's at the front desk for guests but do not charge for them.

I haven't heard that yet. I will listen out for it. I think I've seen English language signage in some of the stations. It's good advice. The only public transportation I know that doesn't have a pickpocket problem is in Japan. They have a problem with perverts who feel up girls or record upskirt videos. In Tokyo I actually saw a guy with some kind of camera with a gooseneck extension slip it under the school uniform skirt of a girl on the metro. I wasn't the only one who saw it and no one did anything.

Yesterday I boarded the Metro at the Poblado Station around noon headed towards Centro.

Upon departing the station there was an announcement in Spanish to guard your valuables including phones, etc.

And then to my surprise the announcement was made in English by the same speaker and it wasn't a recording.

This is the first time I have ever heard an announcement of any type in English on the Metro, maybe it's been going on awhile, or maybe just around the tourist areas, but definitely a shock to hear an announcement in English on the Metro.

This is just another example of how popular and touristy Medellin has become and the changes taking place.
