After 4 days here, I'll head to Medellin to see 2 of my regulars there. I'm going more to keep them engaged and open options for later. Arrived this afternoon from Panama to my chapinero hotel.

I'm in Bogota for 8 days and I'm an experienced traveller however my Spanish is not that great so I asked the hotel manager if he knew a friend who would sort of act as a guide companion as I visit various museums and galleries around town and we can have a conversations in Spanish and I can take notes and so forth and I offered about $25,000 pesos an hour for this service but the manager said $30,000 is a better number and seeing the guy who he found has to come from far away I just flat out offered him $30,000 an hour and of course I'll pay for lunch and entry to any activities. I think it's a good deal for me. Anyway onto the chicas.

First thing I did was hunted for some cash so I walked towards some ATMs and the first one I tried davidivieda or something would not let me withdraw more than 400,000.

Scotiabank wanted to charge 21,000 COP for 900,000 COP, and the AVAL group ATMs spat out my card completely "transaction unsuccessful".

Finally Servibanca ATM let me take out 2 million and 22,500 fee so about 1%.

While I was there I nabbed some KFC which tasted alright.

1.5 days seems like far too short for all of the hassle of an international trip. You'd be best to just find something local and go for a longer crazier trip later when you can take a few days of pto off. I could see if you had like a long weekend with an extra day or two added on. I used to live in Miami a few years back and would fly down to San Jose, Costa Rica often but I typically did the extended weekend trip where I'd take pto on Thu-Fri or Mon-Tue so I at least had a full few days on the ground. Not even 2 whole days is a bit iffy consider all the waiting in customs and etc.

Agreed, doesn't sound so great writing it out. Didn't want to burn the PTO for a full Fri & Sat. LATAM / Delta are expanding service to Bogota / Colombia after Oct, will be 2 x daily from ATL which means a mostly full Fri & Sat can be had. My other trip was Wed night to Sun morning which was plenty, so a full Fri / Sat is plenty for me.

Damn, I wish I knew you were in Bogota, K. My gal, gal's daughter and I were hanging out there last week. Not sure if Bogota is warmer now, but there was a lot more skin, and I saw a lot more beauties in the Andino region. We got the sampler menu. I can't find the name, but it is the Japanese restaurant with the gold doors in Atlantis Plaza. I think it is on the 4th floor where all the upscale restaurants are.

Anyway, it was the best fucking meal I have had in Colombia by far. I wish I had known you were in Bogota. I would have invited you to come along. I have a feeling we will be going again and I will text you in advance. Hope all is well.

How are Sunday nights in SF compared to Fri / Sat? And how late is it busy until? Looking at a short Sat evening until Mon morning visit so if the clubs are dead Sun I should pass.

I'm getting the itch for a 2nd visit to BOG. Thinking of cramming a short visit during Labor Day Weekend. I'd land on a Sat evening, looking at Hotel Tequendema, and should be able to get to SF by 10 pm Sat. Then I'd have all Sunday before a super early Mon flight. I'd definitely stay out late Sat night for at least 2 session. Sleep in Sunday. It sounds like Tequendema is girl friendly so I'd have an Eroticas Bogota girl for a long session during the day. I never quite know how to answer these as I believe a large part of "safety" questions border around actual areas that aren't that great as well as actual safety concerns and then your own feelings of what "safety" means to you. I'll try my best though. I'm white. I'm white as in there's no hiding that I am not anything but European. I have light hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. I'm also tall and am much taller than many Colombians. Basically what I'm saying is there's no blending in for me. After all that I haven't had any major problems in Bogota. The majority of areas are fine. The areas that include the massage places are all fine. Use common sense. The majority of crimes are crimes of opportunity ie. Your iPhone 13 Pro, wallet, etc is in your pocket, highly visible and you're in a crowded area you may become the victim of pickpocketing. You know, that sort of thing. In fact, I was the victim of a pickpocketer while their last time. I ended up not being vigilant about it while getting on the crowded T bus. My fault but still annoying..

I appreciate your feedback brother. Bogota was not that bad then from what I've been hearing to a lot of people. Can't wait to go there. I'll be reporting back all my experiences there after the trip.
