My Brother and I are heading to Cartagena tomorrow and did hear of a good bar there (non-strip club) where you could sit and enjoy regular priced drinks where there would be Scorts. My friend could not remember the name of the place.

We Spent 7 days in Medellin and now wrapping up 4 nights in Bogota, then 4 nights Cartagena and then returning back to Medellin for 8 more. We like to keep an arms length from the strip clubs, total rip off and stressful in my opinion.

That is why you get generic. It is cheap. I was in a pharmacy in Santa Marta and the pharmacist said Durax was buy one box get one free. It was nowhere near the price on this ad. It was like $25 for a box of 28 plus a free box of 28. I sell them for $10 each so I made a nice profit.

I knew a bunch of places inside the walls and outside with hot water (next to Mall Plaza, boca grande, Getsemeni, el Laguito) but, as I've learned the hard way, some information must be kept to myself. I gave an entire list of places I've stayed on forums and WhatsApp groups trying to help the next person, no security or guest friendly, jacuzzi, hot water, private, washer / dryer, rooftop, etc. I even stayed at one in Getsemeni that had toilet seat bidets, perfect after eating those burgers by Plaza la Trinidad. Then slowly one by one their rules started changing about only those on the reservation are allowed in the apartment or the reservation will be immediately canceled, no refund with $$$ penalty and all guests must leave. If cops are called for any reason, neighbor complain, etc they kick everyone out the house / apartment and the most fucked up part is that they won't list those things on the listing, they will send it to the person the day before they check in, a shit ton of additional rules that were never mentioned blindsiding the person.

I only have a few left but these are not really solo places unless you do something similar to what I do, put all your stuff in 1 bedroom and do your business in the other bedroom.

Also how much you're willing to spend per night?

I still know of 4 in Getsemeni all by the same owner and they are cool with guests.

Wanted to get anyone's opinion on what the experience has been. I recently took a trip to Sosua DR a couple weeks ago and had an amazing time. But while I was there multiple guys I talked to said that I should check out Colombia and Cartagena / Medellin. If any of you guys have been to Sosua and Colombia can you let me know which one you liked better. I know Cartagena and Medellin are big cities and Sosua is a small beach town but I would still like to know which you guys like more. I would be traveling solo as well if I were to go.

I currently have apartments in both countries and split my time between them, I also have a home in the states because sometimes I need to go back and get my fix of first world living. I like Sosua for the beach, chicas and a handful of close gringo friends. I like Colombia for the chicas, much better infrastructure, cooler climate, and did I mention chicas. If Colombia had a nice beach in an easily accessible and safe area I would live there full time but it doesn't so I go back and forth between both countries and I'm okay with that.

Hot water is fairly rare outside of hotels in Cartagena. It's just so hot during the day that a cold shower is preferred.
