Chat-u-chak market, exit Kamphaeng Phet on MRT exits into market, weekends. Section 26 and adjacent have some interesting souvenirs. La Rumba cafe (section 26, Soi 1/7), great place to have a drink and people watch. Little Wings House, Section 25, Soi 3/2, Rooms 217-219, has some very unique souvenirs. Phikul Thongbamnet, area 15, Section 11, Soi 1, easy to carry tissue box holders (fold flat).

To those who say Chat-u-chak has no place on a punting site, I say au contraire. It makes a GREAT excuse to escape inquisitive eyes, for those that need to. "No, you don't want to go, it's HOT and CROWDED, I'll check it out first". Quick BTS or MRT ride, an hour truly shopping, a ride back to town, and you've got a couple of hours free time. And if you've bought something, alibi confirmed. Just make sure it's the weekend.

Yes, it might all SEEM to be fun and games when you're a tourist, but living here (or anywhere as an expat), can be a different story. Have you heard about the corruption (to paraphrase Captain Renault, "I'm shocked, shocked, to find corruption going on in here"). Careful what you say or write, or a legal case can be brought against you. Don't have an accident; the usual "it's the foreigner's fault as it wouldn't have happened if he wasn't here", and of course the police will investigate, but don't plan on going anywhere until they finish (or you settle). Go ahead and piss off a mucky-muck and see what happens. If you're a wealthy enough mucky-muck, you can even run over and kill a cop and nothing happens. Sure, if you have some wasta, some juice, some connections, it can help, but, on the other hand, it can grate when you hear from your local friends (assuming you care to have local friends) the petty shakedowns and crap they have to put up with.

Myself, wherever I am, that's home, and I make the best of it, seeing and experiencing what I can, but NEVER a one-track mind. And the first time you have a shawarma blowout, believe me, you will question your decision to leave the homeland.

Forget a cab, just take the BTS or MRT. Extensive coverage, growing by the day (though no idea where the Pink line would take you). But from Siam, it's a straight shot on the BTS to Asok, Phrom Phong, or Thong Lo. Plenty of what you're looking for at any of those stops.

I'll be staying with family near Siam Paragon and I am just curious if there is any action nearby? Would be convenient to accidentally walk into a massage place with FS if it is close by. Otherwise I just plan on taking a cab to nearby RLDs to experience some s3 xual pleasure.

Would like to seek some pointers. How is visa free entry for Indians?

Budget for 3 days and places where Indians are not allowed.

Pattaya has Soi 6, Walking Street, LK Metro, a few soapies, Central Festival, and Terminal 21. Most of Pattaya clientele look like bums who retired too early and are trying to get by. Look at any beer bar as you walk by them.
Having said that, given the choice I choose to stay in Pattaya cause I think the gogo girls are MUCH more friendly than the cold girls in BKK gogo bars. Monthly weekend trips to BKK are a must though.

Aha thanks. I just got back from a week's stay in Pattaya and so got a good dose of well priced action. I'll stick to non-mongering activities in BKK unless my dik decides that the much higher price is still worth it. I definitely liked the vibe in Pattaya. Cool ladies, laid back and eager to please. Hope to be back next year.
