From my house, from the air port on the official CM site and on the link Delta offers you and not once did it go thru. I've done it dozens of times in the past so I know all the intricacies of that site but finally I just clicked on the CM completed question on the Delta link and it said CM complete and no one here, in Bogota or on my way out in Charleston even mentioned it. Side note here in Colombia is Velitas where its another big family day. I decided to pass on going to the inlaws and do the lighting candles thing. Figured I'd stay back here in Chico and grab a old favorite or two for some fun but it's like it was Christmas day, everyone is with family day. I completely forgot about it when I booked. A lesson learned for anyone thinking of hitting Bogota around Christmas. Don't!

Honestly, best to avoid from Dec 7 up til the end of January, or, at the very least, after the Monday that follows Jan 6th every year.

I took delta last month and they didn't ask but in the last six months or so, out of 5 times, I was asked for check mig 4 times and was not allowed to board without showing it.

This discussion, while interesting, is totally contrary to the purpose of this thread and this forum.

I acknolwedge that there's a lot of unfair prejudice against Venezuelans in Colombia, but it's completely irrelevant to the issue here.

I just want to know if there are any casas in Bogot that only admit native Colombians, as has been a thing in the past, in certain cases.

If anybody knows anything, please feel free to comment.

That means nothing. If it does then both are also ethnically the same as the people of Panama and Ecuador because they were all the same Gran Colombia. I do not know if you have noticed the characteristically big ass foreheads that Venezuelans have but Colombians don't.

Woodman is wrong they are not ethnically the same. Even within Colombia they have different ethnicities. You have the fare skinned paisas, you have the black chocoanas that look African, you have costeñas that are darker skinned but not as black as chocoanas.

Venezuela had alot of Arab immigrants in the 1900's from Lebanon and they have alot of Arab traits mixed into their mestizo genes. Maybe if you went back to like the year 1523 or some shit, then you could say they were the same people but since they became separate countries they have received immigrants from different places and they have mixed into the gene pool and changed the make up of the modern day people who live there.

Perhaps the large foreheads came from the Arabs?

Anyways, I repeat, I have nothing against Venezuelans at all. I just like Colombians way more. If you or anybody can't sense the difference, I sure can, and I'm not the only one.

I also generally turn into a monk when I go back to the US to visit for that same reason.

Yeah, the Vennies and Colombians are from the same gene pool and the Vennies have had a much easier time of things in Colombia than Peru where the gene pool is different, and the Vennies can be easily spotted in Peru. Still, I have been with Colombians who can pick out the Vennies and the Colombians gripe about the lack of morals the Vennies have.

Thing is I have not had a bad Vennie lover. The women I was with were hot, often smart, and did what they could to please me in bed. Thing is if you played by the rules and did not steal in Venezuela you were fucked over by the government. So I was always more careful with the women from there.

People here may not like that, but the way the Peruvians talked about the Vennies was unreal.

Not sure why you would see them as different as they are the same people ethnically-- I will say that they are persecuted in Colombia-- they are taken advantage of by slave labor wages and police stealing from and beating them-- I have first hand knowledge of this.

I was being an asshole, I know all about the history of Gran Colombia and Nueva Granada. Ecuador and Panama were also part of it and if it had stayed in tact as a whole it would be a massive country to rival Mexico and Brazil as the largest economies of Latin America. But unfortunately it broke up into modern day Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador and then the US had some involvement with Panama breaking away (which actually was a department of Colombia well after the main 3 had split apart) so they could build the Panama Canal.

As far as modern day Venezolanos and Colombianos are concerned they do not consider themselves the same people. Most Colombians look down on Venezolanos and don't like them being here. Many of them resort to petty crime to get by either selling drugs, robbing, stealing, scams and extortion. And of course many of the Venezuelan women, as we all know, turn to prostition.

I do however enjoy the empanadas venezolanas better than the Colombian ones. They are crispier and have more meat and less potato or rice filler. Anyways there you go.

Lost my link to the official link to Check-mig, I found it again but as usual it's constant errors messages, I've filled this thing out dozens of times and It's always a pain in the ass. Question, Latam never asked me for my Check-mig in October but now I'm flying Delta, has anyone flown Delta recently and did they ask for your Chick-mig? Thanks.
