The ONLY good thing about the Castillo is that it is truly "all inclusive"; meals, drinks and guest fee all included in the room rate. Though the restaurant only serves during set hours for meals; it's not 24-hour. The rooms are kind of a dump and I was in the prime suites on the top floor! The girls are limited that hang out there and some are a little rough looking too. Whereas the Taormina is pretty much a regular flow of girls, especially later in the week and Friday and Saturday night. Plus you have a decent casino there, a gym and now the kitchen is open all night. The Taormina is worth it!

If you're staying at the Castillo and picking up a chica at the Taormina, you'll definitely want to take a cab back day or night. Half the chicas will say no way to the walk, the other half will be cussing you for making them walk up the hill in their FM heels.
Ah, good points. Might as well not risk getting any lousy service from the ladies if I made them walk. The $12 guest fee at the Taormina might just be worth it after all rather than stay at the Castillo for it's no guest fee.

    Guest Fee At Castillo?

    - Elected to stay at the Hotel Castillo. Registration is very "simple". No issues with guests. They were friendly and helpful all the time. The room is pretty tired and could use a new mattress. You roll to the middle and sink in.

I would love to hear about Tango India for some late night options. And the club feel. I've been meaning to check that place out. What was it like before Covid.

Daytime I've only tried Pension Monicas and have had real nice experiences. BBBJ for slight upcharge like 10 k and deep DFK (deepfrenchkissing) included, base price must have changed since I've went. But remember it being reasonable. Walls are thin room is quite small. Some girls prefer to talk in low voice about extras.

I wonder if Taormina is the only main spot now. Has Sportsmen gotten busy on the weekends or evenings again and is it even worth staying there. I enjoy the sportsbar, food, pool table and no charge for bringing girls back to room. Does anyone know if its picked up and benefited from Del Rey changing its business model.

Castillo I think I pass all the time walking from one to the other but I've never stepped inside to see the action or lack there of. Thanks for any feedback and info why'all.
So after I got hosed by the Sportsman (will never spend a dime in the place again) a longtime Costa Rican friend from Jaco hooked me up at La Sirenita for 2 Friday and Saturday night have never stayed there in many years of going to Jaco but seems nice online and is very Tica friendly according to my friend. Will head over to the Cocal Sunday thru Thursday. LOL amazingly noticed the same thing last year the Cocal was packed Friday and Saturday pre-Super Bowl and it was half full for the Super Bowl Game Sunday? Going to stay at Taoromina for 3 nights Thursday thru Sunday and plan to visit Tango India and probably Alcazar. Will report back.

So quite a bit of discussion about transportation from Airport to Jaco. My friend hooked me up with a Taxi driver taking people to the Airport from Jaco on Friday. Going to take me down for $75 USD which appears to be below the current norm of $100. But as he told me look for an Jaco taxi at the airport because the guy doesn't want to drive back empty.

    Taormina?

    Thanks for all the replies!

I think my philosophy is a little more like SWG. Its a vacation too. There are some cities, like Medellin or Panama City, that don't have too much going on. In Medellin, you can go on the Pablo Escobar tour, and if you are so inclined, go to a coffee farm. In Panama City, you can see the canal. But on the second trips and thereafter, its been there done that, and then its ALL about the punting. When that's the case, then one or two bad sessions will just put me in a mood. Just read the forums. People don't only post bad reports to warn other johns. They are also venting. Its best to minimize that.

However, there are some destinations, like the original Del Rey, and the Medellin Mansion back in the day, that were worth a trip all on their own. They were that good. Just wondering if Taormina has become that as HDR fell by the wayside.

But if it really is the same girls, just charging more, then I'll pay the premium for Jaco. Its not the best beach, but it is a beach. And there are other beaches nearby. And you can zipline and hike. And its shooting fish in a barrel, which quite frankly, I like. Cruising the heart of the city and all its dark corners is, in my opinion, sometimes overrated. Besides, I have found that if you go during the weekdays, you can squeak by with 120-150. On Sat night, forget it.

Man, back in the day, Campo Alegre was THE BEST.

That was great, but I hear it has since closed down. I once stopped by the Sportsmen's Lodge back in the day and was not impressed. And I heard its only gotten worse.

But now in preparation for my upcoming trip, I read about people's reports about the Taormina. It sounds promising, but I don't know how much is fluff. Been trying to decide whether its worth spending one of those 4 days in San Jose for the Taormina. It would be a late Saturday night arrival, then take the bus to Jaco on Monday morning. The advantage of the Taormina seems to be the lower prices. Jaco on a Sat night runs $200 session. I here that SJ is $100-150.

I have been looking to try something new. Alot of the destinations from days gone by are drying up. I have frequented Jaco because, of the places close to the US, its the most convenient.

For those experienced at both places, is the Taormina worth it? Or should I just go straight to Jaco?

    Thanks in advance!
Read back a couple pages and you will have your answer. Yes, the Taormina is good, in fact it's now the best place to go. The chicks I talked with for a couple hours were very open about the trade, and said the $100-120 they get in SJ gets jacked to $300 or more in Jaco because they can charge that. If you just want sex, then the pensiones like Monica's is by far the best value. Taormina is next. Never been to Jaco so I can't comment on that except to point to what the hookers themselves say.

IME, Jaco and The Cocal are overrated. Most of the chicas in the Cocal are from out of town. This has impacts on pricing in Jaco. First, chicas have greater 'sunk costs' and are less likely to negotiate, especially early in their trip to Jaco. Second, chicas are more likely to rush the session, for the same reason. Time is money and they want to hunt for the next customer. Add in the fact that Jaco is now attracting less experienced mongers and you should expect to pay $50 - $100 more for the same chica you can get in San Jose. The Taormina has plenty of chicas for every taste. And honestly, Jaco's beach sucks. It's easily the worst beach in CR.

HDR is dead, Taormina is the main spot but sportsmens / castillo / taormina are all walking distance and you can easily hit another spot if you want to check out the talent elsewhere.

It's the same women they just charge more in Jaco since the johns there are less experienced than the patrons in gringo gulch. If you're there solely for chicas and are price sensitive than spend more time in SJ; however Jaco is an actual vacation destination whereas SJ is kind of a dump. The math is if its worth it to save $100/ night and be in a sewer instead of the beach. Tbh I actually prefer SJ because the pensions are a great value daytime option that doesn't exist in Jaco.

How prevalent is smoking (cigarettes) among the ticas? Do most bars allow smoking? Hotel rooms?

How prevalent are piercings? I am not so interested in ear or belly button piercings. How common are tongue, face, lip, nipple and clit piercings? The best BBBJ I ever received was from a girl with a tongue piercing, but the piercing itself does not insure a good experience. Technique is most important.

I know tattoos are common. But how often do you see extensive tattooing?

Finally, how extensive is the hard drug problem? Is it "most" like at a US strip club?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Smoking is not allowed indoors. Huge penalties for allowing it. No bars, no hotel rooms.

Hard drugs. Not sure what your question is, but yes, they are around and you want absolutely nothing to do with them.

    Tatoos, yep very common.

And strip clubs? Not sure what you mean by "like US strip clubs" but I think not. I'm not familiar with US strip clubs, but in Costa Rica you can usually take the stripper to a private room for sex, for a fee. It is very expensive at high end clubs, and less at low end clubs.
