I do not think a self-respecting woman living with you as a wife will want or accept a salary. That is demeaning. She is your wife, not an employee. I send my partners money monthly to cover the bills and to save a little bit, but I don't do that if I am there. Treat her like a wife. They do not expect money just for being a wife. Just treat her well and you will be okay.

If you are going to the province, be aware that some girls are really dirt poor. Especially if they live in Sitio of some far-flunged barangay. Their house may literally be a wooden shack with a dirt floor and anahau roof and no power. You can not expect to get a girl like this and her be able to clean a western home properly. There is a learning curve.

My last piece of advice is just personal. It seems you're more interested in getting a maid than a wife. In the Philippines, women tend to be more traditional and subservient to their husbands.
