I tried this "beer bar" on Suk Soi 22 recently. I put the term in quotes due to the fact that it's a beer bar in name only. It has the usual accoutrements: girls sitting around at the tables, a pool table, a friendly mamasan, and of course a bar fine. But once you pay the fine and take a girl to your room, she flakes out (pretending that she didn't understand your clearly-specified request). Small sample size but I wasn't asked to show my ticket out of Thailand for my last 2 entries. Sucks cause I bought a cheap throwaway ticket for both trips. I was asked where I'm going next. That's it. However, I wouldn't recommend flying in to Thailand on a regular tourist Visa without a ticket to leave.

What do you guys with 30 day extensions do? You can't show them a ticket leaving in 60 days if your initial tourist Visa is 30 days. Do you buy a throwaway ticket?

Better to buy a full flex / refundable ticket, then just cancel the ticket once arrived and wait for the refund to hit your credit card. If lucky, will even hit before your next bill.
