Guys, yesterday I received a call from an unknown person saying that he is from Delhi police.

He was about to talk to me but I ended the call and blocked him after some time.

I remember giving my number to some SPA in Bangalore.

I don't know how these people are getting the number.

Is it some person blackmailing for the money?

Can you please tell what to be done.

I have blocked the contact now.

Relax, Block the call on Truecaller. Forget about it. The Spa people are trying to make a scapegoat / Blackmail you.

Regarding 1st situation why don't you lock your social media accounts? That's a simple solution. Additionally, clicking photos is not easy and finding a person through Adhar in social media is difficult. If you are still concerned, change the name of all social media accounts which should be different than what's in Adhaar ID.

Regarding 2nd situation, I don't think any hotel wala will be made an Adhaar administrator who has Adhaar admin account. That's not easy to obtain and govt doesn't make stupid people Adhaar admins. They won't be working in hotel in first case.

Aadhaar data was being sold for ₹500 in 2018. Also, locking our social media accounts is not the solution. We need branding and visibility to further our careers. I choose the path of least resistance.

Dear friends, looking for an technical advise. I am planning to proceed on short duration trip to thailand for the obvious reasons. But my office won't give leave if I say so. That's why I am going to tell them, I have to go to my home town Bokaro for attending urgent issues. Then they will give leave, but they always insist that while on leave, attend urgent calls of office. I will have to do that. I plan to take short duration airtel international recharge, using existing sim. Now I have two questions.

A. will my office able to call me, using their domestic plans.

Be. When I call them, will it indicate as if the call is coming from thailand or it will just look like domestic call.

This is first such situation for me. Seeking expert technical advise from my fellow brothers.

A. Yes. They can call your from their local number. All your calls will work like as if you are in India.

Be. It will look like a domestic call. However they may experience some time lag.

Pretty strange! Is their CRM a recruitment tool? I think that's total breach of privacy, if they are instructed by increasingly "Big Daddy" Govt, or doing on their own, we can show middle finger to them. This is the invasion of privacy many Conspiracy Theory movies warned us about.

Since when Aadhar became mandatory for hotel check-in? Am I missing something?

I know people desperately give away Aadhar for ID proof, as if they get some reward points on using it. I have been using my DL for ID proof, faking, malformimg them so that they get little different ID number, name looks circumstantial.

Only once one stupid Hotel guy went behind me for Aadhar, to which I told I am an Advocate and I can file a case against you for forcing to give away my Aadhar. When I showed him Court records from supreme court site, he relented.

They keep records of your mobile number & email ID and they link the soft copy of ID with that and when you visit next time no need of providing ID again.

Only they need your mobile number or email ID through which they fetch your ID. The same procedure they follow with the 2nd guest also. So few girls are not comfortable with that (providing email or mobile). But regarding cross checking ID with Social Media or link it with Social media account to be checked with them, though their policy is couple friendly.

I have used BLoom hotels once and didn't feel comfortable for some reason.

I don't recommend these. 4-5 star properties are better. Even though you pay extra, you have peace of mind.

I remember meeting one Indie at a really shady hotel once (around 1 k for the night), and I felt so turned off by the room that I couldn't perform at all.

1st situation:

Someone at the hotel clicks a photo of both of you. They already have a Xerox of your Aadhar. They Google your name and find your LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook account. Then they send you a message with the photo demanding money or they will share it with your connections on social media.

2nd situation:

Someone at the shady hotel has an Aadhaar admin account. They search your name in the Aadhaar database but can't find you. So they call the police. The police arrest you for fake Aadhaar but not the hotel owner who is supporting prostitution and has an unauthorised Aadhaar admin account.

I had a similar experience on the MR website.

Most of the accounts are being handled by pimps and they claim that they are independently genuine escorts.

Also after booking some average girl comes to the room demands extra money. If we won't pay they start shouting and creating drama in the hotel.

Even MR doesn't accept genuine reviews. They keep on rejecting the genuine reviews saying that it's misleading and fake.

So I read the ISG these days before meeting anyone on MR.

You are so right! MR has been so frustrating lately, and it was the completely opposite 2-3 years back. It's a hotbed for scammers now and agents. A lot of profiles I came across are blatantly stealing pics from influencers and models, some not even Indian. And the worst part is, MR isn't publishing negative reviews or even good reviews for genuine profiles. All the reviews that I see lately are on these scam profiles and it's so easy to make out. Neither is the reporting function working, even when you have evidence that it's a scammer. And because of this profile spam, whatever genuine profiles there are probably going unnoticed. Sucks for everyone.
