Anyone have any specific hotel recommendations or at least areas? I plan to go for about a week. I'm trying to keep it to under $200 a night and not have a super tiny room. I have look around Shibuya and Shinjuku but it is hard to tell what is good and bad and good areas and bad areas.
I plan to see lots of Tokyo as well as do the fun stuff from this board. So a nice well rounded trip. For that reason I was wanting to stay closer to Shibuya but open to whatever recommendations, especially if you have some specific hotels that are good.

This is hard because every person has different standards. I actually prefer a small room for solo travel. The APA hotels are relatively small, but you can fit 3 suitcases and a backpack under the bed. You get a good desk area. The bed is plenty for two, even if it's meant for one. To me, it's more than enough. Depending on the exact dates, price ranges from $80 to $120 but I've seen lower. This is the most compact room I would use for DH, the minimum size. Any smaller and I'd feel bad inviting them over. The money I saved by going simple was worth multiple girls though.
Location is everything to hotel pricing. The APA in Shibuya for example is an 8 minute walk from the station, which keeps it cheaper. But if you're not used to walking all the time (i.e. you are used to driving), your legs will get very tired during your trip. Lastly, in the case of Shibuya the APA building has two separate halves. If you are lucky to get the Southern half, it is very discreet.
Shinjuku is close access to very many things, but the hotels within Kabukicho have some special drawbacks. It can be a bit noisy in some spots so bring earplugs in case. To keep out homeless, they post security at the lobby 50-50 which was never an issue for me but maybe for others. I don't pre-pay for breakfast but some Shinjuku hotels had a good breakfast you could pay, so I did it sometimes.
Someone else may have a better rec that will give you better comfort and location. Obviously, any hotel right near a major station will save you the walk every day. It'll also save you train time and complicated train changes. But for me, a 5-10 minute walk is okay because I make it part of my routine (stopping by convenience stores and places to eat along the way). For beginners, the repeated walking adds up.
Since you are going for sightseeing, either Shinjuku or Shibuya will do and you'll want to be not too far from the station. If I was taking the Shinkansen to a destination, that was my chance to rest my legs and maybe even catch a nap. Just if you are a deep sleeper, set an alarm and don't miss your exit.

When I looked at all the touristy things I wanted to do, Shinjuku and Shibuya only represented an afternoon and evening from my entire itinerary so for me Ueno would be more convenient as a base to get to other areas. As for mongering, I don't plan to use delivery health as I'm going to try and stick to soaplands where I don't need to bother with extra optional fees and love hotels.

I personally wouldn't stay in an APA hotel for a number of reasons, especially if you're going to do DH. You can get a lot of other brands, with bigger rooms, and a better reputation, for not much more.
The Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro is great for $150 a night.
So is the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nishi Shinjuku PREMIER for $130.

Decent session with GFE
Booked a 75 minute session with Rui on whatsapp. The process was pretty seamless.
She was at least 15-20 lb heavier than her photos but she was skillful enough to make the session much more enjoyable than I first expected.
The standout was the way she put on the condoms. I literally did not notice she put a condom on me at all and it was probably one of these 001 condoms. I thought I was having BBFS the entire time LOL, it was pretty embarrassing to ask her if I could cum inside to only realize that she did put a condom on me.
It's usually for 20 minutes extension and 40 minutes extension, whether or not you nominated a girl. Some shops have a 60 minute extension line. They care most about the time extension, so the girl can bond with you and convince you to come back. Girls know not to ask too much first day, since the goal is to get you to come back rather than scare off a potential regular. So even when I spent 4 hours with a girl, it was just drinks and the staff suggesting a VIP room. Just say "not today".
If you are drunk on a few beers, it can be hard to judge numbers. But you'll notice the 2nd and 3rd line are a bit more, and the difference is the extension rate.
They make a big deal when a guy orders champagne, but notice the other 19 guys who don't. Most never will, it's not normal or really expected. But a girls' job is to find out who will even if it takes 5 visits. Until then, please enjoy.
I would have guessed it doesn't matter whether the girl leaves then or not, as far as how soon your next girl comes. But I've never tried it that way, does a new girl come if you do? Usually I have her legs draped over me if I need to chat with staff. When a girl is sent off, I have had girls come sit down within seconds. But sometimes, it can be a few minutes. It depends on who is ready.
Rotations
Something not obvious to people is if there are 10 customers seated but only enough girls for 8 customers, those 8 customers will get 100% of the girls and the 2 last customers get none until it's caught up. There is no skipping. For example, if you are the 9th guy you will see the 8th guy get 3 girls before you even get your 1st girl. They will usually even tell you the wait until your 1st girl. This is why I say to show up 4:59pm to 5:01pm which guarantees you are first rotation. I am usually the 1st or 2nd customer in line when I show up 5:00pm. 5:10pm is a maybe, but when I showed up 5:20pm or after I've run into it.
So you are always queued up for a girl and it won't get taken from you in that sense at least. But curious if another girl shows up asap if you send yours away at the bill time.
No other girl showed up when I sent my last girl of my rotation away. Just a pissed off young man standing there wanting to sell me extension options without a girl present LOL. Like I said I'll try not to do this again. Better to just make her endure the back and forth conversation about to happen. I thought maybe a better chance at getting a new rotation and starting fresh if she was gone. I've never sent a first or second girl away - just the third girl when I knew my full time was about expired.
What's the big advantage of arriving at the 5 pm open time? Do you much prefer to be the first one to suck on their titties that day? I prefer arriving later night and drinking a couple free beers while watching the action in the room and waiting my turn. It surprises me how many guys are mostly just talking with the girls for so long. Maybe because they don't want to buy drinks? When the girl is hot I don't want to waste time talking. I tell her she can have a drink if I like her kissing and so she immediately jumps on my lap and proudly unwraps her bobbies. Yes that's why I'm here!

Yes, Ueno is a way better choice if your emphasis is Soaplands like Yoshiwara. It is the best choice for your goal. "High budget low time" and sightseeing generally means soaplands. Pick the better ones and you'll get the Royal Treatment.
Both Shinjuku and Ueno are major rail hubs for getting anywhere else in Japan, it will save you transit time and complexity. Shinkansen day trips used to be my thing. They can be expensive, but the long direct train meant I could use my comfy seat to take a nap, eat/drink, catch up on the internet. The pulldown table (like an airplane) and private seating let me do many things. So I made sure to stay Shinjuku or Ueno because I could go direct to my hotel after an exhausting day of sightseeing and not wear out my legs more. Point to point luxury.
Shibuya's APA is in the heart of night clubs, so crowds show up Friday and Saturday night to go dancing. Apart from that, it is very peaceful and relatively low in tourists. That means I can randomly pick a restaurant near the station and it will probably be very good and very well-priced. I ate like a king cheap with multi-course meals. There is intense competition keeping quality high. Pay attention to huge lines at a shop at busy times, then go to that shop at a less busy time. Locals know what's good. Shibuya is good access to Yokohama and Kawasaki.

You can definitely pay for great luxury. If you want multi-hour with girls, it can be nice. Great ideas.
To be honest, I simply pick whichever station is closer to the girl I'm doing OTC with. And on my way back to the hotel I'd see long lines for some restaurants at peak hours. So I'd pop out of my hotel next time off-hours and beat the crowds. It's the perk of having a hotel I could pop in and out of next to things.
The Oedo subway line broke me. I'll pay to avoid that or a similar transit, you spend more time walking stairs than to/from the station. But I had to do it, because Roppongi had clubs and Shinjuku had oppai pubs. The only few times in my life I picked up a civilian girl off the street to bang were in Roppongi 20 years ago, so I pretty much had to base in Roppongi in that "era". If it happened even one time, you might be hooked too and put up with the Oedo line. But, Roppongi is no longer good for that, and people recommend Shibuya for pickups such as the HUB.
The last factor is oppai pubs and clubs open way past midnight, and the trains stop working. I solved that by staying at Shinjuku or Roppongi.

I hope everyone gets to experience that feeling. Another one is when the girl is so good at sumatra (rubbing you against her parts) that you think you're inside her. I was shocked she let me bb her, until I realized I wasn't inside her. Glad to hear you had a good time!

Sounds like a plan. To avoid a long back and forth, I keep it simple. "I gotta meet friends..no I'm already late so I can't extend 20 minutes" with my money already out and ready for them. I speak 1-3 times this way, I've gotten used to it. I did have the same problem as you originally when I tried to explain things and then they would work aroud my explanation. Note that used car salesmen will act pissed or beg too. It's all an act. You won't remember him, he won't remember you. I do tell the girl "I guess I have your card, so maybe I'll see you again". The flirting never stops, just keep it ambiguous with no promises.

Exactly 5:00pm has a special reason, it is consistently the shortest wait possible. Sometimes when I arrived 5:15-5:30pm, they informed me there would be a wait of 30-50 minutes (5:50pm to 6:10pm). It means you missed 1st rotation. If there are 5 girls at 5:00pm and 5 guys show up, if you are the 6th or 7th guy you won't get a single girl until those guys have gotten all their girls. 40 minutes. This is to prevent them from having a gap. Other clubs are looser about this. All shops won't start your 40 timer until your first girl shows up, and they tend to be clear that you get free beer until it happens.
If you show up 4:55pm or earlier the guy will shoo you away. You're not allowed there. Note that girls show up and enter through the staff door, so this prevents customers from ogling girls who show up (or deciding based on what they see).
If you show up 5:10pm, there is some chance first rotation is filled up. Or not. You are risking 40 minute wait by being 10 minutes late. Or maybe not enough guys have shown up yet. Ironically, you could show up much later to HOS and not have this problem if the girls outnumber guys. It is a 5:00pm problem. On the other hand, there is some chance guys outnumber girls and you can't even enter HOS.
Early vs Late Night Oppai Pubs
Other than potentially being full, I actually like late night for the same reasons as you. There's pros and cons, especially some girl tells me no guys' bought her drinks all night. There is a small effect where 20% of the girls are "taken" when you show up late, but it isn't big. And when you go 5:00pm, you tend to get more brand new girls because the 5pm girls are not on dates. A few of the 9pm girls come in with a date. So this increases the factor of "this girl is new and has few regulars". They skew fresh and amateur. The kind of girl who tells me "You just come here every day don't you?" whereas the pros would never say that. Some funny convos like that.
There are not a lot of locals like us. Most locals talk and talk because they are open to finding that one girl, and they're in Japan all year. Whereas we, we can't believe how cheap it is to lick so many beautiful women of Japan. Most Japanese prefer to find "the one" rather than truly play with many.
SAME-145
Attached are samples from SAME-145. First, the social media presence for customers. He shows up. She applies charm. Up close hypnotic eyes before asking for a drink. He is surprised at the cost of champagne (as a rule, just buy regular drinks unless you are rich or going to take her out). The staff brings champagne, notice the headpiece they all wear to communicate. Another day, the customer sees he's been cucked and stares - do not stare! Rival customer gets revenge champagne..
The above comment references JAV SAME-145 with Haruhi Moka. Images attached. Oppai pubs are basically very high mileage hostess clubs, so there is a lot of overlap. The above narrates typical tropes and actual things that happen, I hope it gives some insight into the culture. JAV lately has some really good plots btw.
2nd to last attachment is how to read an elevator. You can see Hosekinobako is top floor. You don't have to know how to read Japanese if you can just remember that big O in the logo. Last is for Red Dragon, I don't recommend unless you are rich but note they have special JAV guests every now and then. More than their regular girls.

A few people periodically report back on Shibuya Galaxy. People generally have a good time, it is cheap and like nothing else. It is the closest thing to what New Hot Point used to be, except the girls don't show up to your booth to jerk you off or suck you.
Shibuya Galaxy was definitely fun. The girls I chose were fine as hell and super erotic shows. I was expecting way less, and was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad I experienced it.
SG Iori - DDG jgirl. DD tits, super skinny waist. Her figure is a like a taller Katie K with bigger tits and sexier face. She has a super naughty face. Her back view is next level, she is model level looks. I noticed she was super popular and hard to order, but I finally got her in. She likes to be coached and will ask you what you want, but I always leave it up to them.
Iori is S+ or S Looks, that face is next level. For reference, 2015 HYA-Era Mikami Yua is SS+ and MILF-er Aika is SS- to me. It's kind of why Iori is working a HYA Strip Club like SG rather than doing fs work. She doesn't have offer up her pussy to make money. I had to spam the order button when another guy's double order for Iori completed.
SG is cheap and 100% foreigner friendly, an easy rec for "try one time". Located 8 minute walk from Shibuya station. A different girl I reviewed last year, SG Shiori, is working 5/11. The shop blog and her Twitter mention it. Her Twitter references 1 or 3 month breaks she took, but when girls work they sometimes work several days.
https://x.com/Shiori_galaxy
How The Girls See Us
After the show Shiori sat back in her seat, totally back to normal and ignoring me again. Some time later, she notices an insect on the ground. She kicks it a few times with her foot first hoping it will buzz off. But it can't fly with damaged wings, just annoy her. Then, she picks it up and quickly tosses it in the trash. This is very symbolic of P4P. We customers attract the hot young girl's full attention briefly and they obey us in every way, and then they ignore us again like we don't exist. Just the idea itself almost gets you rock hard again.
Here is a competitor in Ikebukuro which spells out their system:

This sums up the customer experience:

If you are early or it's not busy, here is the order of booths in ranking imo: 5, 6, 4, 3, 2, 7/8/1 tied. It'll be obvious to why when you sit down. There is also a VIP booth, it is okay to try once and gives a unique view of the girls' backs. So you can literally peek over 2 of their shoulders and see them scrolling Instagram and Youtube and what they're doing on their phone. I wasn't sure if it was wholesome or creepy, since this is fully consensual. You are the invisible man at Shibuya Galaxy, a fantasy every man has once had I suppose. That is the kind of wonderful and supportive shop this is.
First image is the door with google lens translating it. If you can't read Japanese, you can translate images but it's not perfect. Second image is the seating chart. I really liked 3 because girls walk past you and you can look up their skirt. Some are bare pussy. But 4-6 are conventionally good seats. Some other images from their blog, and a view from seat 8. If you sit seat 5 you have the best view but also you can peek shows from 4 or 6 if the girls don't curtain fully. I saw some next level stuff, it made me order certain girls. Last image shows Leicester's theme outfit. HOS and LEI among other clubs have started to do this more. It is good if you are bored of the usual outfit, but the themed outfits are harder to..expose. Just saying. Whereas, the person who invented Sweater Moon's sweaters deserves sainthood.
Also attached are 2 MILF-era Aika photos to show what I consider SS- Looks. It's what I'd pay $800 for. But others are apparently paying $1200 to $2500 these days for her. I get it, but most of that is the celebrity factor. THC Hasumi is S+ and almost as hot but a fraction the cost.
Yeah that's a good strategy if you want to only do one rotation and bolt. I'd like to do several rotations at the full price (9000 or 10000 plus drinks) if they would allow that. But they don't seem to like that idea much. Usually a second rotation is allowed but if they are busy as normal they draw the line there. "Your time is up" LOL.

I know I'm asking a lot of questions so just let me know if I should ease it back a bit. I'm looking at an eSim and the one I'm looking at doesn't have a phone number. Is that important? I see a lot of reports here just used whatsapp or LINE so I figure it is ok.
Then I have seen lots of reports for the agencies and soaplands, but does anyone try out just regular massages with a happy ending or more? How are those and expected prices?

One hidden advantage of adding the LINE app to your phone is you can keep your hobby vs personal contacts separate. I don't want a lot of girls' contacts but I'll take a few for girls I'll see next trip. This separation means I can just silence all notifications from LINE after my trip, leaving just the badge alert. I don't want to think about them the rest of the year, I treat it like spam e-mail until next trip comes up.
Lately, some restaurants have you order by adding them on LINE. QR codes for a website menu are also common. As far as sim, eSim is common. For a typical tourist, a local Japanese phone number won't matter. I average one single phone call per trip, almost everyone uses LINE. You can even call someone through LINE.
Beginners sometimes find it fun and exciting to add girls' LINE contacts. But any girl who has done this for a while, they are just going to use it as a form of free advertisement and ask you to come to their shop again. So I limit it strictly to an elite few girls where there is some extra purpose like OTC (out of the club). 95% of girls are not worth doing OTC, it's too much hassle and they can flake. When a girl is on the clock, they show up and deliver. It's usually cheaper and way more convenient to see a girl at her shop, as well as safer. For OTC, you have to pick a safe and reliable girl. Don't pick her just by looks.

New in the town
Hello all,
I have newly arrived in Japan.
After coming I heard many scary stories about not to go and try out at any massage place.
I am frustrated and want to know from the experts here about some good places for foreigners where I can get cheap and good massage and full service.
I am useless to you all now, but believe me once I get into this game, I will be a good advisor to many in future.
After coming I heard many scary stories about not to go and try out at any massage place.
I am frustrated and want to know from the experts here about some good places for foreigners where I can get cheap and good massage and full service.
The only advice I can give you is to read back a few pages and you'll find it. Sexy massage services are clearly written out better than I could have written it. If you can't do that, it's not for you. I do suggest you install LINE if you don't already have it on your phone.
Even though it is legal to deliver a girl to your hotel for massage and even pay her for HJ and BJ, with most hotels discretion is key. I've done it dozens of times without any problem but it's from understanding that and blending in like I belong. But maybe instead, you could go GFE soapland. If you are Indian, I've read they take Indians. They are beginner and English friendly from all the reports I've seen.
To me, it's more important that you have a good and safe time. That you don't get trouble from girls, or give trouble to girls. People who are in a rush and not willing to read back, they could cause trouble or ruin a good thing. I see you asked for help on Thailand years back, but it was a request for "quick and easy' which in my opinion Japan simply does not offer. For example, if you were at the airport for 3 hours like your Thailand scenario. I'd have no idea myself what to do if I had to do it like that. "cheap and good" in this new post and "quick and easy" next to the airport are not Japan's strong points. Everything I do, I do once I get to Tokyo and stay overnight.
But if you are actually staying in Tokyo for at least a night then take a look at the links pages back and it's not hard to figure out. Good luck.

They speak English and can help you out, so there's no confusion.
When I am staying at a new place, I'll just shoot them a message. "I'm at XXX Hotel, is it okay?
Seems like they know all the hotels, maybe they have a database or something? I'll get a reply a minute later telling me about the hotel.
Some hotels they will have the girl come right to your room. Other hotels they will just say "please meet the girl in the lobby. " Or they'll say "please meet the girl near the entrance. " They did the homework so you don't have to.
They really go out of their way to help if you're a foreigner and / or don't speak Japanese: https://www.tokyostyle-delivery.jp/faqs/.
It helps that it's a good place to get service from too.
