For well over 100 years, Berlin has always had a fairly tolerant sexual culture. (If you have not, watch the great German TV series "Babylon Berlin" But like anywhere, there are conservative folks who think sex should be practiced in only certain ways. In the Western World, Berlin is surely at the top of cities when it comes to P4P activities. More conservative interests have been unable to convince the authorities to reign it in, either on grounds of morality or even health. All the HIV and STD worries have barely affected the scene beyond large and fairly effective public campaigns for condoms ber alles and safe sex, though this does vary a bit E. G. Bayern / Bavaria has been less tolerant of BBBJs for years (while of course it goes on there as well). And the recent prostitution law tries to also tighten things up a little.
But Covid-19 is clearly way more contagious than its viral and bacterial cousins, and it also seems to be at least partly asymptomatic. So serious intimate fluid exchanges between multiple partners (from not just kissing, but simply being close, having the virus on hands etc.) is a pretty good way to spread a pandemic (until herd immunity kicks in or vaccines emerge) and in case you have not noticed, this would be just about as far from social distancing as you could get. This provides a powerful public health argument to intervene as the potential consequences go way beyond affecting 2 consenting adults..
I don't think the elderly would care as long as they not causing problems. If they wanted to they could have pressured the local government to close them years or even decades ago. Berlin is progressive on sex work even by German standards.

You know, after watching the documentaries and doing the research legalizing and regulating the sex industry seems actually way more morally responsible than making everything illegal. The people who oppose legalization due to moral reasons actually base their decisions on dogma so that makes them dogmatic and at the same time These people are more morally irresponsible than Those who support legalization. When it comes to this topic from this specific point of view the obvious moral answer isn't the correct answer.Sometimes right and wrong is way more complicated than it appears to be.
The virus is affecting many Different types of businesses in a negative manner. Hopefully if the sex industry suffers it will be due to Health and scientific reasons not dogmatic beliefs.

If they wanted to they could have pressured the local government to close them years or even decades ago.
You really do not seem to understand how radically different the situation is now. This has nothing to do with cultural attitudes to P4P where risks are mostly between consenting adults; it is what to do in a pandemic that is still not fully understood, which spreading rapidly, and which poses astronomical health, financial, and social risks to the general population. We are not in Kansas anymore, Todo.

Solidarity
Fellow mongers,
A quick look around the usual Berlin interweb pages suggests (obviously) business is still going on. I urge you to man up and resist the urge. Any girls still doing this are under financial pressure. There are far fewer of them than normal. Same with mongers. Both sides in this duet are clearly risk takers. Add to this what is becoming more and more clear that large segments (data still new and unreliable but easily +15-20%) of the population show no symptoms yet can still transmit Covid-19. All this in effect is concentrating risks to and from any girls still working. Some might even at some point reduce prices if they are under enough pressure.
Berlin is on lock down (and hence cock down) til at least 20 April. There are lots of discussions to possibly massively expand testing and issue certificates to those who have been found to have antibodies and hence some immunity (for who knows how long-possibly 6-12 months). Thus in the P4P zone, there might be some solutions that would allow gradual relaxing, but it would also likely mean a serious bit of tracking via mobile phones and risks to privacy. This is purely highly dubious speculation at this point. Possibly more will become clear around 20 April, but more likely things will stay in limbo some more weeks. But as P4P intimacy remains a key way to spread things, hard to believe the authorities will take their foot off the brakes any time soon.
The stress of the whole deal, the loneliness, the increased desire from warmer weather and longer sunlight all will build pressures to hook up. Use your big brain and til this whole mess stabilizes, just don't. Protect yourselves, protect the girls, protect us all. Do a solid and show solidarity. Thanks.

High class
I will be travelling to Berlin as soon as possible, I. E. When covid-19 stops being such a huge PIA.
The idea is to meet a high class lady for a couple of hours, or maybe overnight.
Any suggestions of very good looking ladies is welcome. I want the model material ones, and I am willing to pay well.

Just check berlinintim site, when these times are over, to see what is then left from the scene. If you want to hear specific stories from 'before the war', then please do not ask broad questions.
Why do some people think authorities will use the Coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to shut down the sex industry?
What do you mean?
Brothels are closed now? Yes, for the same reason as restaurants.
Will contagious diseases automatically mean that prostitution will become illegal? No, there have always been contagious diseases.
Will some people try to use the corona epidemic as an excuse to outlaw prostitution because they will use any excuse? Maybe. Do they have a chance? No.
What does the Forum-search say about Caligula?

Gone the way of the Dodo!
Caligula closed in September 2019. October was when the signs and interior were taken down. Last 2 years it had declined, before that not a bad place.
I will be travelling to Berlin as soon as possible, I. E. When covid-19 stops being such a huge PIA.
When exactly will the virus stop being a PIA? At the moment all restaurant swimming pools gyms and massage parlors are closed. These types of businesses are closed allover the world. A vaccine could take anywhere from 12 to 18 months according to some sources. And, unless there is a new breakthrough in technology or some new information comes to light there seems to be no way that things will return to normal quickly. Maybe someone will find a medicine that actually works, maybe there will be herd immunity, Or maybe the virus will just wither away like many others have. Maybe someone can build vaccine really quickly. Maybe someone can build low-priced ventilators and provide masks for hospitals. That would provide relief to health services. If the economy begins to crumble maybe countries will be forced to end self isolation. If not self isolation will probably just be lifted For a month and then reimplemented when the situation gets worse. Sorry, but at the moment there is no easy answer.

Re: Caligula ist closed
LordLucanII, do you always answer 3 times the same to already closed questions?
Or do you just want to beef up your number of messages in times of low traffic?
More interesting would be to know, what is still alive, either as Information or as warning.
LordLucanII, do you always answer 3 times the same to already closed questions?
Indeed it is a puzzle as this was explained by someone I know very well just above the original post back in January 2020 BC (before Covid-19).
We live in mysterious times, sperm levels maybe backing up to frontal cortex.
At Ravina. All plans should be on hold for several months to help reduce our viral enemy. But possibly at that time, you can spend silly amounts of money effortlessly via https://cityoflove.com/EN/germany/berlin/default.aspx and https://ivana-models-escortservice.de/escort-berlin.
Then you will have to decide as Elvis did, whether "she said she was high class, but that was."

Is there any action at Kurfürstenstraße these days, with the quarantine?
