Sorry for the loooooong post fellas, but I try to be as detailed as possible. This will be crossposted with TAG.

I got a really early start to my day, around 3 am, to go to the tuna auction, but when I arrived at 4 am, there was no room left. I had read a few reports that there was a major discount at Darling Harbor, called the hyper morning course, if you get there before 9 am. I confirmed it on their website and researched the girls available. My choices were: 1. Ai 2. Ayase.

I got to Minowa station and started the walk, about 15 minutes later, I arrived on the street and saw all of the signs for all the soaplands, unfortunately, it looked like none were open. I heard music coming from inside a few, but no one standing at the doorway. Except one: Darling Harbor. I wasn't sure which accepted gaijins, but was positive that DH does, and they seemed opened and had a large selection of girls available.

The guy sees me, we make eye contact, says something to me in Japanese (by the way, I'm Chinese / Vietnamese American, but 6'0 ft (182.88 cm) and 175 lbs (80 kgs) and speak fluent English with no accent. I told him I'm gaijin, and he hesitates, and asks which country I'm from, before I could say anything, he says: "America?" Which I say yes. He then looks to the other guy, who gives him the ok nod and invites me in. This should have been a major warning sign.

I go in, they bring me into a room, and offer me the prices. He shows me the regular prices on the table, and I point to the hyper morning course prices, and he says: "These prices are for Japanese customers only. " This shocked and surprised me. I wanted to say to him, that I had other gaijin friends (referring to you guys, I hope we're friends!) that came in and was given that price, and that the website doesn't mention anything about the prices are for Japanese only. I didn't want to make a fuss about it, since I'm already here, and I didn't want to be asked to leave if I brought it up. I was hoping that I have an amazing time and might make a return trip and given a discount the next time. The Japanese are a fickle bunch, they get offended so easily over everything, but are quick to do the offending without a second thought.

He showed me the girls available, Rina, Coco, and Suzu. Having read nothing but terrible reviews of Suzu, I picked Rina based on the measurements and that she looked a tad better in the photos than Coco. I like the soapland experience, and Rina was great. But for the price, it was a little expensive. I'm not too sure why I didn't get the discount. Was it because I'm Asian (not Japanese), gaijin, and / or American? Would I be charged the same price if I said I was Canadian? Thai?

It was a Tuesday morning, it was probably going to be slow or no customers at all, so they had to offset it. If they did rip me off, and someone else confirms it, then they lose business from this report, which gives me a peace of mind. If they didn't rip me off, then I would feel better.

I wanted to try a deriheru or a pinsaro, but didn't have time. And seeing how my other two experiences didn't go fantastic, I didn't want to compound the bad taste in my mouth if my third experience didn't go great. Both times were a new experience, the soapland will now act as a measuring stick for me, and I'll be back to Japan again to try other services out.

Just because a discount is advertised or there is a coupon on the website, does not mean gaijin can get it. Be pleasantly surprised if you get it.

It used to be said that the Shin-Okubo station was the place where you could get the world's most expensive Russian street walkers but that was at least ten years ago so I would not know now.
