Maniwa soapland in Yoshiwara
My first time in Tokyo a fortnight ago and I wanted to try soap without paying an outrageous price. There have been several reports here over the years on Maniwa soapland, at the bottom price scale of Yoshiwara.
I choose it because the price was relatively low. 40,000 k all-inclusive for the 140 m programme, as advertised on the Maniwa website, knowing that this meant compromise on the quality of the girl and maybe more. So this was 1 hour more than Darling Harbour for 30 k, which would have been my next choice.
40 k was however the most expensive by far that I have ever paid for P4 P, anywhere. But I I am getting rather old, approaching 60, and the testosterone is ebbing, and I thought I was worth a fling!
I phoned to book. The receptionist, called "Miss Casandora" spoke OK English (speak slowly though); she used to live in London she said. So like advised here, I said I wanted matplay. I confirmed that the price was 40 k for 120-140 m including matplay. She asked me to pay in cash.
Miss Casandora also wanted me very much to avail of the pick up service from some nearby stations. But I wanted to arrive by foot, first because I like walking, and second because I didn't want to be tied down to a certain time for pick-up. Miss Casandora was highly skeptical that I could could find Naniwa on my own.
So given her skepticism, I thoroughly checked the location. In the event, it was very easy to find. You just enter ""Naniwa, Yoshiwara " into Google maps, and up it comes. And that works for the other soapies too.
I loaded the maps on the phone. I exited the subway at Asakusa, last stop on the Ginza line (and a great temple to visit, with a good shopping market). I followed the GPS, heading for 4 Chome-32-6 Senzoku. It was at most a 15 m walk. I had no problem finding it, all the more as a guy from Maniwa was on the street looking for me, and greeted me by the name I had given on the phone. Luckily as well, I wasn't late as I think in retrospect that they could be sticklers for punctuality along with appearance etc.
Miss Casandora had asked for my nationality and I had told her I was Italian. The room had typical Japanese decor. It was in two parts, a lower one, the wet area, with a stool and a bathtub and mat, and an upper level with a bed. Around 25 m square overall.

All of the three other rooms looked busy, with shoes outside, on leaving. So you need to book, specifying any special services including matplay. And out of respect, keep the booking, or call to cancel. So the place is not big at all, and can easily fill up, I think.
