On my last full day in Japan I ended up in the Ueno area afte some cultural activities. I was due to meet up with a friend for a farewell dinner but at this point I wasn't sure if it would be an early or late meetup, so I was stalling out. Since I was only one stop away from Uguisudani, I hopped on the JR and took a walk around the love hotel district while I waited to hear from my friend. I figured that if I heard it would be a late dinner and I had enough time then I would grab a love hotel room and book a girl from Hipness, which is a Delivery Health service specializing in Thai / Pinay / etc girls for a very low price. Almost three months later I can't remember any details of what she looked like, but she was attractive enough that I almost did it just for the adventure of it. But I was still waiting to hear from my friend and also had some last-minute errands to I wanted to run, so I told her I didn't think I had enough time but that I would look for her if that changed. I know nothing came of this, but I'm sharing this story in case some adventurous types want to check out the area. There's always Hipness as a fallback (though you need a local phone number to use them) or one of the gazillion Korean Deli places there.

Fast forward a few hours after my dinner and I was back at my hotel near Kabukicho and ready for my last fun of the trip. One of the things I wanted to try was a so-called Luxury Delivery Health service, of which there are many to choose from. I chose Zeitaku na Hitoki based on a good review I read. Spoiler alert: I wish I hadn't! I called the shop and reserved a girl (I picked badly) and told them which love hotel I wanted to use. Then I went and booked a room and called back with the room number. After a short wait, the doorbell rang and I greeted a male staff member, as their site said was their procedure. I paid him the fee and he left. Deep in the recesses of my brain my spider sense finally tingled and I wondered if I'd just made a mistake. But he was already gone and then the girl appeared. She was quite a bit larger than I'd expected. She did have big breasts, but not on a small frame. She wasn't ugly or anything, just. Even though I was immediately feeling ripped off, here was the girl. I didn't think there was a chance in hell I was getting my money back, so I decided to go through with it. So I was in Tokyo for a few days and had a very enjoyable visit to Jan Jan. As I was walking downstairs a fellow mongerer was exiting. He sighed and said "try the skinny one. In Osaka there is the Tobita prostitution area. The best looking girls don't touch foreigners. You can get a nice looking girl there and it is safe. You won't get scammed or tricked. The same goes for Matsuyamachi. Screwing around with phone numbers and trusting the voice at the other end is a bad idea.

Man nabbed in porn star bait-and-switch scam in Ikebukuro.

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 24-year-old male employee of a sex business who falsely promised customers adult video (AV) actresses were available as prostitutes, reports Nippon News Network (Jan. 15).

In January of last year, Kazuma Nakai, an employee at a fuzoku establishment, worked with accomplices on a road near JR Ikebukuro Station in swindling a man out of 650,000 yen in cash by luring him with the false promise that a woman who appeared in AV productions was available.

In carrying out the ruse, Nakai posed as the head of a talent agency for AV actresses. He then falsely told the victim that a fee was necessary to guarantee the appearance of an actress.

During questioning, Nakai said that he wanted to speak with a lawyer.

Police are aware of about 80 similar cases that took place in the Ikebukuro area in which the amount swindled from the victims totaled 67 million yen.

And another observation. You can get robbed by a Chinese prostitute in your own country. Why meet one in a foreign country where you don't speak the language? Um, maybe something has been lost in translation going in both directions. My reports and links to the individual shops weren't things I pulled off of other boards or out of my ass; those were my own experiences in Japan approximately three months ago. If you're suggesting that I posted anything dishonest or that I'm trying to lead anyone into a scam, then yes, your comment is nonsense, but I don't know if that's what you really mean.

I have been to JanJan on previous trips. Y3,000 for a BBBJCIM has got to be the best bargain in Japan, and not just in the sex industry. It's great for what it is. But I really prefer being in a private room with a sexy Japanese girl and enjoying the full health service menu, even if it costs me 10 X what a trip to JanJan costs. You should go back to my detailed reports to see what I paid, but the prices listed on the shops' websites in the "System" section are accurate. I probably paid an extra Y2,000 each time as a nomination fee, which is listed on the site but hard to read because they show a lot of the price info as a graphic (as opposed to text) so it doesn't get translated by Google.

2. The phone operator speaks minimal English but it was enough to accurately complete the booking each time. It helps a lot for you to speak very slowly and clearly and be patient -- they might put you on hold a few times during the conversation.

3. The services were all legit in my case, but I didn't request anything exotic. If you click on the "System" section and scroll down past the box with the basic prices, you'll see the standard services under "PLAY INFO" -- but again this box shows up as a graphic so Google Translate doesn't help, at least on my PC. Below that is the "OPTION" list, these are the extra services that might be available for an extra charge. Not all girls offer all the services, so it really depends on the specific girl. If you click on the individual girls' profiles, the specific services they each offer DOES translate. So you'll see that DFK is a standard service that every girl offers. Rimming is a standard service but few girls seem to offer it, based on a handful of random profiles I just looked at. If you use Club Amour as a guide a 40 min session can be 20 min mat time if the girl is friendly or has a professional attitude. Of the shops you mentioned I tried only jk-style and ol-style, plus some other delivery healths and a soapland in Yoshiwara.

So far I had a lot of expensive fun in Tokyo (last time this November) and I never had problems with my basic Japanese, being a Gaijin or scams of any kind.

I highly recommend not to trust the touts encountered on the street in Kabukichō or other places. Simply ignore them and only go to the shops for which you have done your research in advance. 99% of scams stem from not following these simple rules, in Tokyo as in the rest of the world.
