On my last trip to Tokyo I visited a building which I'm fairly certain was just inside the red light area in Shinjuku. Up on about the 6th floor there was a reception that was the entrance to a strip show with about 6 little booths surrounding the small centre stage. After the performer was finished she went around to each private booth and gave the customers each a HJ.

This was a fun experience, and would like to take a friend there for the novelty of it. So if anyone can remember, or knows of it, please let me know.

As a white tourist I know mongering will be challenging, but I'm sure it'll be fun. I plan on giving MilkyBaby a try, and also a few of the soaplands and pink salons reported on here.

Japanese don't generally arrest you till they are sure they can convict you. What they can do is detain you for up to 25 or so days, yes 25 plus days. Thats 25 days without you seeing a lawyer or talking to anyone they don't want you to. They also use some enhanced interrogation tactics. No they won't water board you. They will sleep deprive you, play werid random music. Put you in stress physicsl postions. For Americans all there required to do is notify the embassy that they are holding you. So unlike th states where you can just pay bail and leave your going to be stuck there. Thats the risk we warn you about not a conviction or arrest. As a foreigner one of two things will happen they will either see the ganjin card he mentioned let you go cause they don't want to deal with it or if it's a bad day they will hold you for the 25 days and mess with you because of your ganjin card. They don't worry about you jumping on the news and screaming false arrest Japanese police are very smart about what they do.

I know of a US service member arrested for trying to pick up a prostitute, one of the things they did prior to his detention is photograph him standing next to the girl. Showing the same girl he attempted to pick up. Also they had pictures of where she was standing the area and everything. Sure all these smart excuses might work, I was just asking directions, I was looking for somewhere maybe. But let me tell you guys this right now unlike the US where the girl will deny it to the end. These girls will admit to being a prostitute in a heartbeat. If asked why they were going somewhere with you they will sing like a canary. Now add that in with all the pictures even if they don't convict you the court of public appeal will. Oh yeah the Japanese never charged the service member or arrested him just detained for 3 days. Also the last part the for Okubo the reasons the police crack down on those areas and why most of us who live in Japan avoid them is because the vast majority of girls who use it are underage cause they can't do it the legal way. As long as you don't go with a Nigerian tout, or listen to the advice of said "experts," wonderful Tokyo is one of the safest towns in the world. Tokyo offers one of the world's widest spectrums of erotic offerings, so don't sell yourself short by going to always the same overpriced tourist trap.

He was held for 5 days before released no charges by the Japanese. So yes it did happen and there is way more than that. Unfortunately there is no way to Google it as unlike the US they don't report all detentions. The best you'll get is word of mouth you'll only hear about major raids. I know about the dod guy because have a friend who works on the base with there security guy.

Spent a little over a month in Japan from the end of September to November. Wanted to check out some of the options while I was in Tokyo before heading to Osaka. After going through pages arguments, cryptic reports, and conflicting information, I decided to cross reference with some other forums including Japanese ones. Ending up going to Y (Y-Shirt Watashi). From some other reviews, I got a list of girls who were popular / recommended a lot and checked their schedule (Can be found on dozens of websites). He comes back with my change in in less than a minute. Another minute later, I'm out the door and around the corner to another building to meet the girl. Every visit after the first one was done in their original building though.

From what I've seen looking at other boards and talking to others who have been to why-shirt, you'll always get FS. Once I met her, there was no talk about times, prices, or any sort of implications. Everything just fell into place naturally. I know Kaoru is popular there and she has many glowing reviews from others.
