If you want to pick up a tochinbo, I don't recommend going there to do it. Youtubers, journalists, activists and plain clothed police officers are out there regularly now due to it being a well known area. The videos and articles you've seen really put the spotlight there. Also, some of those girls are runaways and / or underage. If caught, your situation will be 100 x worse if it turns out she's underage whether you knew it or not. If she looks too young, ask for her ID. It's better to be safe than sorry. It's the difference between a slap on the wrist or going to jail and getting your passport blacklisted.

Syphilis and HepA are also big problems.

The guys who hang out with them are usually just friends and clients who have nothing better to do.

They want to know what you want to do before they come with you. It can be a little difficult if you don't know the lingo, but nothing google translate can't handle. As for hotels, it's honestly best to go to a nearby love hotel. On weekdays, you can book 1. 5 hrs for less than 5 k yen. Lapia is a good place. They also provide complimentary popcorn, soft drinks and 1 free cosplay rental if you're into that.

You'll notice that they're always on their phones. That's because they network with each other and they advertise on twitter. (Safest place to book a girl).

They also hangout near train stations and at random spots in Kabukicho. Don't mistake them for the older Chinese ladies who randomly walk up to you asking for a "massage".

You can book underground AV models on Twitter too. The "FC2-PPV" porn videos are basically guys who do that and record their encounters.

The experience can also be a hit or miss because some of them are all business with no emotion. You can get GFE, but you're not guaranteed it or they charge extra.

Honestly, the only benefit of picking up a tachinbo is if she's ok with it, for 30-50 k depending on the girl, they'll let you go all the way. BBFS CIP and everything. If that's not what you want to do, it's better to go with the agencies you see on other posts here.

TLDR.

Okubo park is starting to become risky due to mass reporting of the area and STDs. Watch out for underage runaways. Tachinbo are only worth it if you want (and they offer) BBFS CIP. Otherwise, go with an agency.

I've passed by the runaway girls many times, they are in always a different section than Okubo park. People in Japan have a certain common sense, even runaways, they stick their own group. If you watch the news, NHK talks about crime in the area, some of which involves tochinbo pretty often. Yahoo news, gendai media etc. Also covers it.

Just a few months ago, "influencers" gathered together and formed a group called "The Street Guardians of Salvation".

They expose people who partake in the activity by going covert and conducting sting operations. They also randomly walk around holding a sign that says prostitution is bad. At Junshiurita on twitter is one of them.

Also on YouTube, there's people like "Tokyo Night Walk" who's a guy who livestreams himself walking the area and sometimes harasses the girls and there's "Yukinyan" who is someone that makes fun videos about life in the area.

Yukinyan used to interview girls and guys, but after losing her old youtube channel, she just makes shorts now. Those interviews got way too real for youtube.

Yo're right there is special coverage of Okubo Park. Note that enforcement in Japan is extremely lax compared to other countries. A lot is focused on trumpeting in the news what little they do. In Jdrama have you sometimes seen the trope where the villain taunts the policeman saying "Where's your warrant?" even though he is 100% obviously guilty? In Japan, this is taken very seriously. There is no such thing as arrest for probable cause like in the US. Suspicion is not enough. I asked which one was pretty and petite and the staff recommended a choice for me. Paid about 30 k yen, can't remember the exact amount. I waited in the waiting area and noticed foreigners of all types also waiting. An older Asian man, a fat middle eastern looking man, a handsome young white guy, etc.

When the girl showed up, she brought me to a nearby love hotel. She was a little older (maybe 30?) and much thicker than I wanted but would fall under normal body type instead of slim. Her English is good and one thing I noticed with this foreigner focused place is a lot of their girls are not pure Japanese. They seem to be other type of Asians or mixed girl masquerading as Japanese. I suppose these are the type of girls they look for who can speak English and are willing to cater to foreigners. They are also older at around 30+.

I think younger less experienced and pure Japanese girls are unlikely to want to try foreigners as it can be a mixed bag for them vs the usual Japanese clientele wherein they know what to expect.

In the room, the girl told me the rules about DH but offered FS if I wanted it with the caveat that "no one should know". I declined as she wasn't really my exact type so I wasn't interested in paying more. She was very professional and prefer that she leads her "service". I let her bathe me and do her service. But it doesn't have to be that way if people do a few minutes of research.
