my experience of the fkk scene has been numerous visits to oase over the last few years with a few stop overs at palace and twice at artemis while i was in berlin. wanting to expand that horizon i decided to venture over to sharks for one night. i decided to make it a friday night so that i would get a good impression. would hate to judge a club on an off night.

transportation:

i took the re60 train from frankfurt hbf and it gets you to darmstadt hbf in 18 minutes (€7. 30). from there a €8. 80 taxi ride takes you to sharks. 35 minutes from the door of my hotel to club. to me, that was awesome. normally i get to the clubs around 5:30 or 6:00, but after reading the board i decided to head over around 8:00. i have to agree that even at 8:00 i was surprised at the lack of movement. it really seemed to get more animated after 10:00. as stated in other posts, the last train back to frankfurt is 12:30, so that doesn't leave a lot of time if you get there late. a one way taxi ride is supposedly €50.

facilities:

my impression of the club is a little mixed. definitely large and clean, but it was almost too sterile. felt like a big shopping mall with a food court. when i read the other reviews and people were talking about the upstairs, i thought it would be a completely separate area. instead, it is all still in the same open space; more like a giant loft. don't get me wrong, i think the facilities are great, way better than oase; i would just like a few more areas to lose myself in. probably when the outside area is in use you get that, but tonight no one was out there and even the saunas out there were off.

actually i would love to return when the garden is in use. it actually looks like a nice place to hang. smaller than that of oase, but way more modern. even though the outdoor saunas were off, i loved that indoors there are three saunas (75°.85°, and 95°) and a large shower area. and it is the only club where i've been offered sex in the sauna (read below).

the club's locker area is clean with large lockers and a nice shower room; and the program rooms are clean and enjoyable. i'm not sure about all the rooms, but the rooms under the giant fish tank all have tv's playing sky tv's porn channel. as well as the standard rooms, there are also nice themes like the caves upstairs near the indoor pool and two jacuzzi, or the teepees and cubes outside. never tried any of the rooms up the stairs behind the safes, so don't know what those are like.

the bar is a large oval, well situated with a view to almost everywhere. another feature i like is that you can run a bar tab with your key number. the prices are not great; but not outrageous (€6 / shot) i for one enjoy having a drink (4 in fact). though at the end of the night my bill was €28, not the €26 4 drinks should have been. didn't think about it until after i left, so couldn't ask or complain. is this a built in tip? anyone know?

besides all of this, there is also a kino which, unlike other clubs, was seldom used. there are also plenty of sofas and chairs placed at different angles to create many different little sitting areas.

my overall view of the facilities is that they are wonderful. it would be nice however to have a few areas to escape to when needed. if you're looking for a dirty or seedy vibe, this definitely isn't your place.

the talent:

though there seemed to be less woman than i am used to from oase or artemis, there did seem to be a greater selection of types. i was surprised and happy to see older women and larger women. not the type i go for normally, but i love variety. none of the ladies were too pushy, and they definitely didn't feel like sharks to me. in the rooms extras were offered, but i never got the feeling that they were trying to upsell. i really liked the vibe of the girls here, very natural, not a lot of silicon, pleasant to chat with and there were at least 5 girls that i wanted to do that first night; but even though the mind is willing, the body still falters.

Visited FKK Sharks last Thursday (15th March).
