FYI, if your carrying american currency (especially $100 bills) the exchange on the black-market (any Rapido or small tienda outside or near a Cardeca / money exchange location) is $97 CUC for $100 American. Not bad ey?

A month ago in Havana a bicitaxi driver shocked me when he smiled, he had 4 or 5 gleaming gold crowns. Now dentistry work is cheap but gold is gold. I was paying 1 cuc for short trips and 2 cuc for 15 block trips. Maybe the gringo price, but 2 different chicas I spent time with told me that was the rate. But maybe the old story, side with the local not the gringo. Price seemed high compared to 1 cuc in a collectivo from parque central out to vedado. I paid 3 cuc to go from parque central out to the viazul bus terminal ,20 min trip, to buy a ticket, in 53 chev taxi, taxiis waiting there wanted 10 cuc to return to centro, hailed one on street for 5 cuc. Returning to see my chica next month, some nites we stay at her place, water supply is a 45 gal barrel, shower is a dipper in a 5 gal pail with water heated on the 2 burner stove, her place is on the top floor so when it rains 8 to 10 basins are put out to catch the water dripping from the ceiling. The fun part is drinking white rum from her belly button on her washboard flat tummy while listening to the water dripping from the 16 foot high ceiling. God I love Cubanas, even more than Colombianas from Medellin. But only a little more.

This is sheer speculation!
And it's the dumbest I've ever heard!
Based on your fantasy world a cuban bicitaxi makes more money than a doctor and lives like a king!!
Lmao.

Also think of the commissions on "chicas" that they get.
From my research your average bicitaxi probably makes 150 CUC and your higher-range bicitaxi makes 300-500 CUC.
The thing is that the life span of the bicitaxista is short. The body has wear and tear after 70 hour weeks. Also, the bicicleta costs I think about 10000 Pesos Moneda Nacional (420 CUC) so it takes some investment. There is also registration with the municipality.
One of my bicitaxistas worked in a hospital as a psychiatrist and worked biking / hustling on non-shift hours. He was 35 but looked like he was 50.
Bicitaxistas are the most interesting people in Cuba. They see everything, they know everything, they know everyone, they work the hardest. It is just another part of the crazy nature of Cuba.

Posts: 41You need to be able to think outside the box
the country is different than any other country in the world. you don't need to speak spanish in cuba as a prerequisite for getting chicas, but you need to speak spanish in cuba to understand how things work and how to problem-solve. the more spanish you speak and the more intelligent you are, the cheaper and better the experience becomes.
you also need to be strong willed and tell people to fuck off a lot. and you need to be direct and shameless.
that being said, i haven't been to asia so perhaps asia is better. the philippines, in particular, intrigues me.
the charming part about cuba though is the unique culture and fucked-up nature of the country. it was thrilling for me to be there and to experience the day-to-day life. maybe thai and filipino people are equally interesting, but again, i have no idea. i'll hopefully find out soon enough.
here is a good summary of problems in cuba that you will have to deal with, even if you speak spanish completely fluently.
1) no internet or ridiculously slow speeds.
2) incredibly expensive to make phone calls back home.
3) foreign currency issues. debit cards do not work. need to bring a lot of cash. double-tiered currency system.
4) sometimes getting girls to register will be an issue. hotels are an issue. hard to get girls into resorts. overall corruption everywhere.
so yes, cuba at the end of the day is not cheap.
if you are looking for cheap without hassles, go to the dominican republic. it is right next to cuba and is completely open to foreign investment from the us. has internet and banking and relations witht he us and has similar looking women to cuba. dr will be slightly more expensive than cuba for everything, but you can live really cheaply in the dr.

You will suffer a lot there. Everything you said is true everything!
And I can see you'll be in a lot of trouble and very miserable there.
Just stick to Thailand.

But honestly I don't understand why many here are so " ah this is the best place in the world for ladies" - and cheap.
Problems? When I read articles advises from others.
1 You must speak Spanish. Or nothing, you can forget it.
2. Safest place on earth: "remember to lock all away. Be carefull with this and that etc".
3. Lots of troubles with police. - no thanks not a place for me I think. No reason to risk some night in a Cuban jail. I can imagine how there must be.
4. Cheap? Some spend 2 thousand USD for 2 weeks. 40 USD for a girl cheap? Its madness.
5. You cannot take the girls to your hotel room but have to pay another place for 20 USD cheap? No way.
It sounds more like a ripp off place but I am found of Caribbean girls and music. I like it so much they are so hot. After what I read.
Although I never dated one, but wish too.
But it seems for many who are sure of this is their place for life the best they ever experienced, well it sounds never never heard about Thailand?
I have been there many times. And it is so easy with girls there. I never had problems.
1. I can bring the girls to my hotel room. No problems.
2. No problems with police at all.
3. Most of Thais are for sale, 80% of them, sure and Asian women are so wonderfull so nice shape and SP gracose.
For sure there is good and bad to.
4. I can stay in Thailand and travel around. One month for 2 K USD. Hotel and domestic air tickets included.
5. There is easy axcess to other countries in the region, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines etc.
6 I never had anything stolen from my hotel room.
7. 30- 40 USD and you have a lovely girl for some hours.
8. ATM machines available anywhere.
Should I go to Cuba? I wish maybe to find a girl for long term. Is it possible? Without Spanish?
Tell me. I am sure to go sometimes and after read here, then I really doubt. Stay there 2 weeks and spend a lot of cash and then nothing?
Wil I be completely lost there?

Posts: 7Cuba help for new guy.
Hey all, I ve been to Cuba twice and both times got "effed" up by middlemen. The problem isn't them getting all my money by making deals with women I liked but the women also ripped me off with low quality service as they are pros (as I've learned).
I've especially been to Camaguey and Santa Lucia (where people knocked on my room door after 55 minutes). What are some of the best places to visit now which has less Police and more semi / new types of women who are easily approachable. I understand your views might differ but thank you for your input!

Getting a casa is simply a matter of knocking on doors and communicating. That is why Spanish is necessary. Registered is safer. They will have a sign on the front door. Honestly a bicycle taxi ride from the city center is about 10 minutes max so getting one near Caribe is not even that important. I stayed in city center.
From a monger's perspective, you may as well just insist that the chica registers with you. There is never any harm in it for you save for the chance that the chica refuses to go with you.
Once a chica registers with you she has lost all power. She has just put her name in the book and it is not coming off. If she steals, she'll be found easily and put in jail. If she asks too much money, just threaten to throw her out. There is no way that she is registering with you and then leaving with nothing. That would be disastrous for her. So not registering, in a sense, gives her leverage. Once she registers, she is in your hands. Obviously, being a gentleman, you give her about $30 or so and perhaps a gift if she behaves well.
