On going through the forum in the last few days, I see the heated debate about seniors not helping and newbie's unwilling to make an effort to RTFF. My 2 bits on the situation.

First off. We are in a country where mongering is looked down upon. It is risky more in terms of harassment meted out by LE or Media exposure than the actual punishment. The seniors or even just newbies who want to share info have to do so in a very coded fashion. Once its put openly you can be sure that LE have that info and the person or place could be targeted. The recent news about LE raids in Mumbai are proof that laws are being used to coerce and extort money from people who fear exposure.

With that in mind, everyone has to understand that seniors who write reports are trying to help in whatever way they can. I have rarely come across a senior who will not help when asked in PM. But to post it here openly carries a dual risk. The obvious LE / Media exposure problems and desperate newbies paying unnecessarily high charges and in effect raising prices for everyone.

Also another issue which seniors have to tackle is mongers who just gather info and never contribute FR's. If one will compare the India forum to the others on this website, you will see that no other forum has warnings and rules about posting. As per posting rules, one is just expected to post FR's but India forum is littered with questions and requests. Whatever the reason, users are unable or not willing to spend $20 to get PM which is meant for additional communication. What happens then is new users have to go through pages of irrelevant posts in terms of questions to get to half relevant information.

So here's the general conclusion.

Keep the forum clean and to the point by following posting rules.

Post FR's and develop a identity. It works like a bank credit report. More you post more easier for anyone to trust you.

Use google or any search engine to help with the hints and clues.

Get PM, its not that difficult.

I totally agree, even I was disappointed with the senior who asked for an exchange. Whereas I have over 500 reports out which more than half of them are of encounters still if it doesn't account for credibility then I don't know what does.
