Its sad to hear this. Do not get disheartened and take some rest and come back. Many times on the forum is discussed about Locanto. So better not to take a chance through Locanto. I had a similar experience (you can refer my very initial days FR). Lucky as I got my money back even after paying them. This is an experience and don't take this as failure.

It seems there are lot of untrusted contacts in locanto. From what I read it is best to avoid random locanto contacts and go with the reviewed once. What you did was right better safe than sorry, that doesn't mean be'lore is not safe for mongering. I'm from Chennai but I do visit be'lore forum regularly and it is a great place for mongering.

I would suggest always to go with the inde or the SPs which are shared in this forum.

Don't try cheap acts which are in locanto and other sites.

Avoid Madiwala, BTM, JP Nagar, Bannashankari areas altogether unless you are a localite knowing kannada. Even though BTM area is Ok but I still avoid it and limit myself to some upscale areas in and around MG Road and Indira Nagar. Costs more but relatively safer bet.
