This happened last month while on a short visit to Delhi. I broke up with my GF couple of months before that so having a dry spell and hormones were dancing left right and center for some action. Finally started from Karol bagh metro station around 18:30 and reached there around 19:15. After reaching called her and waited for another 15 - 20 minutes. After that girl came up in auto with her friend then after Hi and bit chit chat she asked for Breezer and dinner, got the dinner packed with couple of Breezer, beer and packet of gold flake.

After that got an auto for her house the place I don't remember now all I remember is her place is around 20 minutes by auto and is after passing one big Nala. After reaching her house I realized that her society is in semi developed area as there are may vacant plots lying there also so called her flat is not Flat but a three story small house of area approx 25 sq yard as it just One BHK that too on ground floor. Her house was not maintained doesn't matter to me as I was there for short time. Every time after entering in new house I always I check escape routes which was like this house has two gates for entry and exit one from hall and another from bedroom in the rear of house. Then we all three had dinner some smoke and her friend had her Breezer, after dinner her friend left room for sleeping in hall and what I found that door between hall and bedroom has broken locks and not even latch. After bit chit we got into our birthday suit and she was just laying on bed and asking for missionary only. I would like to summarize a few relevant ones in the present context.

1. A separate mongering' mobile phone with only mongering related contacts, and a few contacts of all weather friends (for such like emergencies).

2. Carry nothing that you can be blackmailed with or will repent losing. This can include extra cash, documents giving your identity, mobile phone with.

Family contacts etc. (This can vary depending upon the shadiness / safety quotient of the place or WG one is visiting).

3. Avoid going to places far off from the main city, as in this case. Use the 'Abort' option liberally.

4. Being mentally prepared for such eventualities, again. Depending upon the place one is visiting.

5. Never panic! (Easier said than done. Martin's done well to escape with a 25 k penalty.).

6. Remember. Mongering is not entirely illegal in India, esp not, if you are at an inde's place. The lawyers on the forum can enlighten us.

The list can go on. Seniors would have even more nuanced knowledge and experiences to share.

I did wonder though, what if you would have called their bluff about the fake police once you were in a populated area? What would have been their options? Either they could have harmed you physically, which is less likely in a populated area or actually charged you with 'Rpe' chase ems more likely. Adherence to point number 1 & 2 would have meant you couldn't be blackmailed and escaping would have been an option. May be even raise you hue & cry in public that the bstds stole your mob phone and wallet? What would be the reaction of a guy in fake police uniform then? The post fact 'Rpe' charge thereafter could have been nullified by having the whatsaap chat history as evidence (if at all you had it).

There has been a wonderful post giving out certain Do's and don't's of mongering a few months back, giving out exhaustive details. All newbies should RTFF and go through that post.

P.S. : 25 k is not much to restore your peace of mind, as things could have got worse. I would have fared worse if I was in your place. Well done. And cheer up mate! Shit happens. Flush it with a beer and good friends.

Be careful if you meet girls from Locanto or other dating websites for sex. There have been two cases on the forum recently of four fake police officers bursting in to the girls flat and blackmailing mongers for cash. You can read both reports below. I'm sure there are lots more cases that have gone unreported too, either because the victim wasn't on ISG or felt too embarrassed to share the details.

The modus operandi in both cases, below, are almost identical. The fake police officers burst in to the girls flat and take photos of you as they enter (presumably for leverage so they can blackmail you). They say that they have received a complaint from neighbours that sex-for-sale is going on but clearly the girl must have been in on the scam. One giveaway is that instead of taking you to the police station, they say they must take the girl to a hospital for a medical examination. On the way you will be offered the chance to buy yourself out of the situation. One of the victim had to pay 25,000 rupees and the other 21,000 rupees. A considerable amount of cash and a scary experience too.

If you know your rights, this situation can be avoided.

From wikipedia: In India, prostitution (the exchange of sexual services for money) is legal, but a number of related activities, including soliciting in a public place, kerb crawling, owning or managing a brothel, prostitution in a hotel, pimping and pandering, are crimes. Prostitution is legal only if carried out in private residence of a prostitute or others.

Meeting a girl you've met online for sex is not a crime. However fraud, impersonating police officers and blackmail most definitely is a crime!

The four men will be aware of this. Tell them that a) you haven't done anything illegal but b) they are committing several serious crimes. Tell the girl that she also has committed a crime by aiding and abetting criminals. In both cases below, the police officers took a phone and wallet from the victims. Make sure they don't do this to you. Tell them that if they try to take your phone, wallet or personal possessions, you will charge them for GBH too. That's four serious crimes they'll be guilty of.

Ask them to show you their ID. It is very easy to fake an ID so perhaps the ringleader might have something that looks quite official, but all four men should have ID if it is an official police raid. On the ID will be their ID number, so tell them that you will phone the police station to confirm that this is an official police operation and if it is, you will happily go with them to the station. The mere mention of calling the police will mean they will want to leave as quickly as possible.
