My 2 cents on this. While I believe in sharing; there has to be some kind of background check or verification process brought into play. May be number of FR the member has and the quality of it. Say shareable contacts will be shared only with members having minimum 10 FRs. Even if one reads 2 or 3 of them, it will make it clearer if he is worth sharing the contact with or not. It may help bring some method to the madness.

I totally agree. I am a new member, and in my first post asked for some MPs. It was really obvious that nobody would entertain my request. Even I wouldn't help a newbie stranger on the forum until he has posted some decent FRs. Though 10 FRs is a bit too much but this method is good. But the thing is, how will a newbie post FRs until he doesn't have any contacts. IMO he should be given the names of a few MPs and not SPs if he asks for some contacts. Everyone. If there is anything I have learned in my life, it is that when it comes to masses, simple appeals to people's common sense don't always work. We need to come up with stronger suggestions and ideas. Perhaps also request the admin for this site to allow some of us the use of better moderation tools in this forum so that we are able to control the quality of the forum better.

Some of the things that Pauper and others in his responses have mentioned need to be codified into forum rules and moderation should be carried out strongly around that. It is sometimes through policing a community that you create a better community.

Else, this will just go down the same path as at least one earlier site did before the India action moved to ISG (who remembers what it was).
