Dear ISG brothers,

I have been deluged by a large number of PM and although I shared the contact with few but my contact was shared by many. Meaning my 5 shares became 50 as everybody has good friends.

Result.

3 Indies have blocked me. One literally blasted me with abuses for sharing her number with many. The problem is that many of us just farm contacts and trade one for another.

Although sharing and trading per se is how ISG operates nevertheless please follow one rule.

1. Share and trade only when you taste an indie or SP.

2. Use your own references with girls. This can only happen once you have been with her and built your credibility.

These are some lessons learnt in last few days. Thankfully I still have a few prized gems tucked away.

Indie contacts should only be shared among senior members with 40-50 posts. I've shared contacts with newbies without giving a background check of their posting patterns. When I looked again some of these posters' only contribution to this forum is 'Please PM me the contact. ' After going through some of the posts lately I've decided to become more prudent in sharing. Even some of the SPs are not responding actively lately which means they must be flooded with calls and queries.

It's unfortunate that some Indies blocked you for sharing their contact. In such a scenario one should request the person with whom he's sharing the contact, not to spread it and like you rightly said not before trying her themselves and giving one's own reference to the new person with whom he's sharing.

My 2 cents on this. While I believe in sharing; there has to be some kind of background check or verification process brought into play. May be number of FR the member has and the quality of it. Say shareable contacts will be shared only with members having minimum 10 FRs. Even if one reads 2 or 3 of them, it will make it clearer if he is worth sharing the contact with or not. It may help bring some method to the madness.

I totally agree. I am a new member, and in my first post asked for some MPs. It was really obvious that nobody would entertain my request. Even I wouldn't help a newbie stranger on the forum until he has posted some decent FRs. Though 10 FRs is a bit too much but this method is good. But the thing is, how will a newbie post FRs until he doesn't have any contacts. IMO he should be given the names of a few MPs and not SPs if he asks for some contacts. If he writes decent quality FRs then SP contacts can be shared on the discretion of the one sharing.

Special thanks to Rahul, porsche5 and action oriented for Sharing info for the new comer who was out of India for long time. Sorry for delay in FRs was busy with some personal things. I was in Delhi for 10 days for a wedding so was able to explore 4-5 times only.

I am not a superstar senior of this forum, but am certainly a veteran and have been using this forum long before India and Delhi became active here.

Everyone. If there is anything I have learned in my life, it is that when it comes to masses, simple appeals to people's common sense don't always work. We need to come up with stronger suggestions and ideas. Perhaps also request the admin for this site to allow some of us the use of better moderation tools in this forum so that we are able to control the quality of the forum better.

Some of the things that Pauper and others in his responses have mentioned need to be codified into forum rules and moderation should be carried out strongly around that. It is sometimes through policing a community that you create a better community.

Else, this will just go down the same path as at least one earlier site did before the India action moved to ISG (who remembers what it was).

1) MP: I generally share the contact.

2) SP: I share contacts selectively.

3) Inde: I am much more selective and see the profile of person seeking details.
