Posted this in the Mumbai forum. Thought this would be useful here as well.

Just thought I would share my thoughts about sharing contacts. Many many of you would have had the experience of sharing a contact, which was then lost to you. I hope you find this useful.

Before you share a contact, you need to see a few FRs of the person asking, to see if they are a reliable / genuine monger. This takes judgement, but you mainly need to avoid the following types:

1. "Outright fools" - who will post a girl's location or other sensitive details in the open. Leave alone lost contacts, there is no saying what damage such people can cause.

2. "Traders" - those who will take your contact and exchange it with others for more contacts. You can imagine what this will do. An avalanche of calls, which will result in the girl changing her number. Result. Contact lost to you, and everyone else.

3. "Needy Desperate Types" - will call a girl and ask about services. Then call and ask about rates. And call and ask about services again. You get the idea. They will annoy the crap out of the girl. Result. Same as 2 above.

4. "Too Clever Negotiators" - will call a girl knowing her rate is 8 k. Then ask for 2 k. If she refuses, will abuse her etc. Result. Same as 2 above.

5. "SPs in Disguise" - will take the contact from you in the guise of being a fellow monger. Then call the girl, threaten her or whatever. Result. She will either become an SP girl. Or will change her number and disappear.

6. "Overpayers" - they will start out knowing a girl's rate. Then pay her 2-3 x that rate. This is the least harmful type, because at least the contact will not disappear, but the rates will go up quite a bit.

To be a smart hobbyist, it is important to have common sense, discretion, ability to treat women well (yes, even though we are paying them) and the smarts to know how to pay and negotiate with some mutual consideration, ethics and grace. My suggestion. Please ensure that a member does not display any red flags before exchanging any contacts with them.

After a few early lost contacts, these rules have worked well for me.

Time to bring charges under control. Like it is said that one day all of us stop using our own vehicle and don't spend on petrol, the cost will come down drastically, same logic here as well. I have taken a decision that I shall not monger in Bangalore and I am sticking to that. One babe who never went below 8 k St has offered herself for 3 K now.
