I hop on and off between Delhi and Bangalore frequently, I have seen this surge in recent 2 years which is drastic. As compared to Delhi Bangalore is high on prices nowadays and many of the SPs, indies, NEs are not keeping any cap on this. Beware of this less it will be deserted.
