I'll second that opinion. I've taken ADO busses all over the Yucatan and they're very nice and run popular routes sometimes hourly. If you're going to be traveling more than 4 hours or so I'd pop for Platino or GL; the busses are even nicer and more comfortable.

I personally don't take overnight busses. I think it is a little less safe and, more importantly, you miss out on the scenery. Also, one thing that was a little jarring the first time was having the bus boarded by the Federales and having our passports checked. I've only had it happen twice but I gather it is pretty common if you ride enough.

The buses in Mexico are generally very nice. Ado / etn are definitely nice because I've used them in the past. Also very on time.

Was recently in Veracruz. Adding to what others have said, there are chicas but they are rare and the selection is limited.

My first day there I went to Hot Mamacitas. The host brought me 2 or 3 ugly fat girls. I sent them all away. One wanted 1800 pesos. Ridiculous. I declined and after watching a few stage dances I decided to try my luck at the Hotel Abasolo. Walked there and saw three girls on the street corner sitting down at the food stall. None of them interested so I went around the corner. Walked past Hotel Palma and saw a thin lady walking down the stairs. She asked for 1200 pesos for 1 shot and 1500 pesos for two shots. She looked good in the dim light so I took her for two shots. Can't recall what the room fee was but it was not included. In better light I noticed she had some dental issues but at that point I was already stuck. Very mechanical and somewhat toothy CBJ. Finished in doggy. The hotel only provided one condom so I had to pay for another condom for the second shot. Same story. Mechanical finish. The girl offered to sell me some crack and even did a hit in front of me. I declined. Overall cleanliness of the room was not good. Felt very sketchy overall.

Next night I went back to Hot Mamacitas. Once again the host brought over a fat ugly girl who I immediately sent away. Smoke show comes on stage and dances. She is a 9. After her dance she immediately comes to my table and asks for a drink. I buy her one and then we discuss rates. 1850 for the room for an hour. I accept and get taken to the back. Tons of charges on my bill and even tax which is normally included in the price is on top. My bill for her, a bucket of beer, my gate fee, her drink, and a bottle of wine and the taxes and I'm in the hole for nearly 3000 pesos. She was the most attractive lady I've seen yet so I paid it. No BJ, but she rode me the best I have been ridden in a long time. Very energetic spinner. Finished in doggy. Her hips felt great to grab onto. Small breasts with very perky nipples. One of the club employees knocks and tells us to finish up. I'm pissed because it's supposed to be an hour and I asked for two shots. Girl wants a tip for the second shot and I don't object because the monger scene in Veracruz is not great. She wants 500 pesos which I paid because I was too tired to negotiate. It was a waste of pesos. I had been drinking heavily that day and could not finish a second time. Also because of how mechanical it is the girls there don't give you much time to recuperate. After trying multiple positions I finally decided to finish by jerking it next to her.

Did see a couple of working girls on the malecon during the day but had no time to inquire with them for a price as I was in a rush to an event. The two girls I did see were attractive.

Walked the malecon at night on another day and did not see any obvious working girls. Walked back to the hotels again that same night but there was only one ok girl outside the Palma again and I didn't even want to bother because I did not want to go to that hotel again afraid of running into another crack head.

Would I come to monger in Veracruz? No. For what I ended up paying for that smokeshow at the strip club I could have gotten an equally attractive escort in my home country which would have included a BBBJ. If I had more time to plan for this trip I would have given the dating apps a try.

Flight:

I flew Aeromexico for the first time out of Tijuana. The airfare was around $340 round trip. I used the CBX from Otay to the Tijuana airport and back for the third time; highly recommend CBX.

Taxi to hotel and back to the airport: 250 pesos.

Getting around town: Taxis were cheap and reliable. Make sure the cab has a working AC beforehand! Spanish also helps. I would go from one club to another while my taxi driver either waited for me, or returned at a certain time.

Hotel:

I stayed at the Fiesta Inn Malecon. I grabbed an ocean front king for a decent off season price. I tend to sleep in late, because I'm a night person. The first morning, around 7:50, I heard loud drums and horns, which seemed to be right under my window! I jumped up, looked out the window, and saw the pinche Mexican navy preparing to raise the flag at 8 AM. Fuck, it was loud and the drumming continued for at least 20-25 minutes.

I also noticed the AC was not working as well as it should. The next evening when I returned to my room; the AC just died. The staff upgraded me to a junior suite; which was SWEET! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm not sure if the place was "Girl Friendly" or not; never brought one back to the room.

Communication:

I have the North American T-Mobile plan, so calls, texts, and the using internet were included.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the restaurants:

Gran Caf Parroquia. Famous for coffee, but the fajitas sucked!
Villa Rica. Excellent.
LOS Canarios. Excellent.
Guero, Guero. Kind of a popular ice cream type place. Too sweet for my taste.
Taco stand next to Lo Lupe. Very good late drunken tacos.
LOS Farolitos. Very good.
El Maestro Asador. Excellent.
La Parrilla (late) - Excellent.
Las Anitas. Very good.
LOS Giros. Excellent.

Strip / table dance clubs:

In each club, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. As each night went on, the more I drank. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to correct me.

I always drink screwdrivers when I travel in Mexico, and always with the house vodka; Smirnoff. But this trip, I decided on Absolute.

A really nasty (in a good way) chica came and sat next to me and started playing; I liked her! The mesero told me it would be 1250 for the room and the chica, plus five drinks for the chica would be included.

So it was true, I paid 1250 pesos for the chica, the room, and her five drinks. I was a happy camper to say the least. The BJ was condom free, but not the sex. And we were in the room for over an hour. BTW, she only allowed me to take a picture of her boot and drinks.

The weather was hot and it was humid. Hell, I've never seen so many Mexican men wearing shorts! The beaches did not seem special whatsoever. Maybe that's what keeps tourists away. Either way, I had a good time exploring and documenting stuff for our community; so no regrets!

Would I ever return to Veracruz? Nah!

Did you had any luck picking up the locals?

So I was walking around in the area south of Zamora park where the dive bars are, and I discovered one that had a closed door. I ventured in, and discovered a rather large strip joint. There were a handful of semi-nude girls and one or two customers. Each girl would get up and do a strip once in a while, otherwise they got their pesos from lady drinks, and for those, they provided hands on service. Since the locals were not buying them lady drinks, I got all of their attention and it became a competition as to which lady would provide the best service for a drink. This took a little manipulation on my part, since the ladies don't like being dismissed.

I figured out that the locals sit there with their one beer, watch the strip show, and then go next door to negotiate with a lady in the hotel.

Forget the strip clubs with their 4000 peso prices, Veracruz is filled with bars and SGs at reasonable prices.

South of Zamora park and west of Dias Miron Blvd is an area with street markets, fleabag hotels and dive bars. If the street is sunny, the girls sit in the hotel lobby, otherwise they hang around the entrance of the hotel.

Bars are generally small, with a handful of ladies, more at night.
