You already have some pointers on the trip. 2 suggestions.

1. If you have time in hand, get a visa from India itself. The queues in BKK airport can be crazy at times. Also in case you planning a visa on arrival, go through the check list and carry photos of yourself in the mentioned size. I have been there a number of times, but always get the visa from Delhi itself. Takes just a day, but saves you a lot of trouble and time at the airport.

2. Go with empty bags. Do a lot of shopping. Clothes. Good place to refurbish your wardrobe.

Also, you can carry THB from here. Will save the hassle of exchanging to dollars and then to THB. Lastly, since it is your first time, beware of ladyboys. Carry dollars. Easier to convert and you get better rates. Conversion can be done in any of numerous exchange counters dotted along the beach road and elsewhere in Pattaya street. Some of them have started to ask to your passport for exchanging your currency. The ones nearer to Walking street are still liberal in this matter.

3. Does the HDFC, ICICI etc. Bank debit card will work there. (If required additional money / or will be use as backup).

It does work, but you will have un0 necessary forex charges on those card. It's better to take a Forex card (available from both banks and others too).

4. It is necessary to book the hotel before getting visa on arrivals.

Yes it is safer.

5. Which method is better to book the hotel? Agoda or other website. How to confirm the hotel is guest friendly and no Joiners fee?

I always had good rates from Agoda, though sometimes it is far cheaper to just roam around and look for a good bargain.

6. If anyone stay in any hotel please let me know the details.

There are quite a number of good hotels in Pattaya. I have stayed in Selection, LK Empress, Page 10 and many others. Check their ratings and feedback on Agoda / Tripadvisor. Will give you a fair idea. Just make sure there are no extra charges to bring in the girl.

7. Which area is good for stay? Walking street, double road, beach road, L K Metro? I am thinking the area which falls between Soi 6, Walking Street, Beach Road and Double road will be better.

In my view, prefer beach road. Your idea is good.

My budget is 80,000/- INR for 6 days of trip.

I keep travelling to Thai for work (never mongered in Pattaya though) - here's where I can help: .

2. Better to get directly from INR to THB. You'll save huge commissions. Both airports have exchange facility but suggest you do it earlier by visiting some exchange centre or even a bank (sbi does it. Might have to google a bit the nearest place) - will save 2-3 k on 80 k.

3. The cards work (I've used both SBI debit card and HDFC credit card) - you can use them at any ATM just like India. However, banks charge a bomb on taking money out through ATM ( 15%.

On debit and 2-3% on CC, if I remember correctly) - best to take a travel card from ICICI Centrum or similar service.

4. Yes, from my experience. The immigration officer usually checks that. But there is a workaround- you can do booking for any refundable hotel / hostel and it'll work. Cancel after you come out of the airport.

5. I usually compare prices on tripadvisor and then use the cheapest site (usually turns out to be hotels dot com).

Not sure about girl-friendliness, maybe tripadvisor or other mongers can help.

Though I have not been to Pattaya (but I have been to Bangkok, Phuket and some other parts of Thailand) , will try to solve your queries.

1. amount of money is totally depend on how much you spend. Just do a rough calculation along with avg amount for fooding and lodging and things you are planning to do (like day trip, shopping) and multiply + some extra amount.

2. I would suggest convert to THB in India from Rupees. You don't have to convert to dollar (1 THB = 1.91 INR. But at the currency exchange store they will be giving you the rate for around 1 THB= 1.96 INR).

3. Yes, Debit card do work. Don't forget to initiate your international usage. Give a call to your customer care and ask them to do so or you can also do that from your net banking.

4. They do ask for the printout + the local address in Thailand during immigration. You can do a dummy booking too for visa purpose.

5. there are lot's of sites. Agoda is indeed a good one. You can also try Booking.com (they offer free cancellation + zero booking fee).

6. Like I said. I have never been to Pattaya.
