I am almost not mongering in the Bangalore due to the high rate for crap thing and saved the money for Pattaya trip. I have gone through Pattaya ISG forum and other website and got the knowledge of Bargirl, freelancers, go go etc.

1. Approx How much money will be enough for 6 days trip (Consider each day 1ST and 1 LT) and accommodation up to 3000-4000 (INR).

2. It will be better If INR converted to Dollar (In India) and convert the Dollar to THB? What is your suggestion.

3. Does the HDFC, ICICI etc. Bank debit care will work there. (If required additional money / or will be use as backup).

4. It is necessary to book the hotel before getting visa on arrivals..

You will find lot of info in terms of ST / LT costs, hotel costs etc in Pattaya general info forum. Which hotels to stay etc.

INR THB is 1:2. 2 INR for 1 THB. Assuming 80 K for 6 days without airfare its 40 K THB which is about 7 k THB per day. This is more than enough. 2 k THB you will get decent hotel in Pattaya, either beach road or Walking street or any of the nearby places. Food is cheap. Most hotels have breakfast incl is you can be awake before they shut buffet. 500 for food per day is more than enough. Beer or whiskey costs about 60 Bhat to 120-130 bahts for a tiger or Heineken beer or JW Black or usual vodka brands. Between hotel, food and drinks about 4 k should be more than enough. ST is usually between 1000-1500 bh and LT 2000-3000 Bh (dbl of ST is usually LT). Massaged, lady drinks, Barfines, any entry charges to some strip / gogo bars will be extra. Cabs etc will be out of budget. If you take tuk tuk etc transportation is cheap around core Pattaya. 80 K for 6 days excl airfare maybe a bit short. I usually keep about 1 lac for 4 days. This budget lets you enjoy without thinking or flinching. Of course not all days you may go both ST and LT but some day you may go 2 massages and 1 LT. Or some day trips boat rides, local sight seeing etc. There is lots to do for a first timer in BKK or Pattaya more than mongering.

Visa is 1000 Bh on arrival or better get en evisa so no waiting when you land. Go to tripadvisor, check hotel reviews and your dates, it will give best pricing of many travel websites incl hotels, deals, expedia, agoda and Indian websites too. Book from here. Its always cheaper and efficient.

Any debit / credit card can be made international ATM acceptable and can be used in any ATM to draw local currency or swipe there. But there will be Forex conversion charges and intl usage charges. It will load 3-5% over regular conversion. Best is to carry USD and convert there. But you run risk of over spending or losing / theft. Best is to carry some Bh, some USD / Euro, and keep an international card for drawing. But due to high misuse and data theft if you swipe card there, most banks ask you to declare the days of your south east Asia visit and automatically issue a new card after cancelling existing one. Even if you have international enabled your card, its better to call your bank and inform them you are using it in Thailand, as most banks block Thai transactions by default unless requested prior.

Don't carry all money on you all the time. Use hotel safe. Carry one card only on you and leave rest in hotel room safe. No need to carry your passport. Just DL is enough. Be aware of ladyboys. Not all first timers can differentiate. They look real ladies and can be charming. But you may find what you don't wish to in their pants. Be polite, dress well, smell nice and appear hygienic. Indians are not welcome everywhere, always. If any establishment doesn't allow you in, walkaway. There are more. Lady drinks can be expensive. If you don't intend to barfine a girl in a gogo or a girlie bar, don't be macho and buy lady drinks to explore or show off. Say politely no. Pay by drink for yourself. As much as possible pay for smaller transactions by cash. Don't keep a tab or leave your card at the bar / waitress. Pattaya is awake til 3-3.30 AM. Be safe nevertheless. Don't go to quiet / lonely places.
