Thanks Sumit. I had looked up airbnb but most of the good ones had caretaker etc and seemed like there could be some scrutiny. One particular pad at Haus Khas seemed really nice. Perhaps I should talk to the owner and take things from there.

I know another member gave some pointers about airbnb, but I went a different route last year when I visited New Delhi. I booked an apartment in south extension 2 and was able to bring in a girl I found on locanto. The apartment building owner had two employees who lived on the ground floor garage and opened and closed the gates for the cars, but were also able to see who came in through the door. I had no problem bringing in the girl and they were fast asleep when she left after midnight. This might be another option besides airbnb.

Have stayed at the Novotel for 3 days. Wouldn't really describe it as girl friendly. Their staff is hyperactive and attentive in the name of 'exemplary service' (bothersome if you as me IMHO), and the rooms are also a bit cramped. However, Novotel is connected to the Pullman through a restaurant and it certainly looked less forgiving. I may be wrong though. Try it at your own peril!

And I'd suggest try your luck there or move to Mahipalpur.
