While police verification has nothing to do with this but from a work-life and social status point of view it is not good that neighbors and others become aware of it. May harm you in several ways. Take care buddy and if needed move to a new place and keep this discreet. And as I always say these are two worlds and they should never meet.

Nothing like that. The police people need money. Just pay couple of hundreds. It will be cleared. They have nothing to do with your personal life.

When I renewed my passport this year, they asked me to visit the police station.
