When you visit by lanes of Ejipura it reminds one of Khirki village or triveni complex amongst Saket / Malviyanagar of New Delhi which too houses; amongst varied ethnic populations; sizable NE population. Thus the economic pressures of living make people evolve similar techniques of survival amongst labyrinth of narrow by lanes and ghettoised living quarters! Typically you will find 1 or 2 BHK tenements shared by a few with common Toilet s. But these places are cheap ;2. 5 to 4 k!! Once in a while you encounter a gem! The bedroom contains one queen size bed which many will share without changing covers.
