I try to refrain from criticisms and normally prefer to only give my personal perspective but for someone professing to be some kind of expert, living here, giving reports to new comers, please stop! You jump back and forth from COP to Dollars while confusing matters further, as your examples seem to cite a limited range of touristy options.

There are hundreds of venues where one can successfuly meet girls in Medellin at any given time. While I do not go for the "model types" as I feel that distinction is primarly awarded to those who have higher level of skill in make-up, fashion, FB selfies and not actual beauty. Also, "model types" seem to me to overcompensate and put on a front of self confidence which in my opinion drives price up and quality of service down.

Its a tough cookie to swallow being sex deprived while suddenly landing in Medellin only to spend US prices for Ritz crackers. I've been there. My advice, breathe! Jerk off first. Do Something to take off the edge. They can smell you a mile away. Sure there are tons of girls who will not go below 200 cop and tons of girls who quote in Dollars. By going to Gustos, you are on their turf. Get away from that scene and you level the odds more in your favor. As many girls quoting 200 cop, I promise there are at least 5 times that number who will accept 100 cop, stay with you longer, give you better attention and be more appreciative.

IN Medellin, in general the girls are awesome! Anywhere you meet them they are friendly. If you make a friendly, but not lude or rude, comment to a pretty girl in the street, odds are she will smile. Go from there. Ask if she will help you practice your Spanish. Offer to share a tinto or helado or almuerzo. The culture is far from perfect but it is a happy one. The people generally and genuinely want you to enjoy the moment and enjoy themselves too.

I'm telling you like it is live in Medellin right now. If you want to aim for 200 k at Gustos and get it good for you. I have spoke with many girls and it is all the same. The lowest a girl went was 150 $ usd for 2 hours. I'm giving reports to educate the new comers on what to expect. If you can somehow negotiate it down to 200 k good for you.

Most of these girls are nothing special except that they get dressed up and put on their Sundays best. The only reason I go is to have a drink and look at some new talent.

My first couple trips I did pull a couple girls and learned my lesson. Now I only see FB girls. Unless I see a super model type at Gustos which is possible since so many girls are making much more $$ there they bring friends who might not be part of that life or word just gets around.

Yeah it is pretty silly for Colombia, but there are other places where it is not as silly. For instance, in Peru the ATM will give you USD or Soles.

Back in 2003 when I was in school in Argentina a classmate was having a leather skirt made. The price was $300. At the time the peso was 3 to 1 for the USD. When it came time to pay she handed over 300 pesos. Unfortunately for her, in this instance the $300 actually meant 300 USD!

Years ago, and I really cannot forget that, I met an idiot right at the arrival hall of the Medellin airport, at one of the ATMs right out of the door. He had just landed, as me. He was cursing loudly in front of the ATM, while I was waiting behind him. He then left the ATM telling me "NAW! ALSO THIS ONE GIVES DOLLARS! I WANT PESOS! Then he went away too quickly to let me reply anything.

Never been to Marrakesh, but I used to live in Rio. If you search the posts you can see that years ago I was reporting giving chicks at Help Disco 100 reais for all night while others were reporting paying 300 reais. Help is now closed and a restaurant / bar called Mabs has taken over the main gringo freelance traffic. The chicks look way worse, but now ask 500 reais for all night and most times 300 for short time. You can see the disparity by looking at local sex pages. A guy posted one in the Rio thread the other day where way better chicks have an advertised price of 100 and 150 reais. So I would say on the local FL market prices have not risen much, but as usual, the froreigner is allowing himself to be fleeced.

As far as establishments, there is this thing in Brazil where if business is bad they will raise prices to make up for the loss of business, instead of lowering prices to try to attract more business. They would rather raise the price and have a place sit empty, than lower the price to keep the place occupied and bringing in money.

The problem is "Foreigners don't know" - they flock to the the typical touristy areas. They simply get the price and quality they get. Out here prices go down from El Pob to Laureles to Centro- quality (of the girls) may not go down in the same proportion. I 'tried' checking out the strip joints at Centro- simply not my kind of an area- too 'seedy' for me.

Yes one can and should explore. There is plenty of 'talent' around- need legs to go around.

But you should restate the price when you WhatsApp them. Don't even mention dollars -- just say "the price is 150 k pesos, correct? "Cuesta ciento cincuenta mil pesos, si?" (Sorry don't know how to use write accents on this keyboard).

FWIW, if a girl in Colombia quoted me US dollars, I would immediately ignore them / cross them off the list.

If I was to throw out a number, I would throw out a lower one. In this case I would say the price is 100K right? If not, then just ask the price and let them fill in the blank. If they say something higher than 150K, then I would say, but the add says 150K.

That depends on the OP's Spanish level. If he is like many MDE hobbyists, just confirming the price from the ad will a bit of a struggle.

First of all. I like that. First of all, from a strictly functional standpoint, the difference between a Bugatti and a Ford is negligible, based upon the driving habits and abilities of most drivers on most roads. Of course it's an unfair comparison because the girls in Gusto ate not noticeably better than the girls you can find anywhere in Medellin.

I do believe in price change. Prices are constantly changing. Prices will always change and usually the price will go up. Prices in Medellin will go up. No doubt in my mind.

However, in a city if 4. 5 million, the price point is not controlled by 20 or 30 women. Just like the price Bugatti charges won't raise the price of a Mustang GT.

The price in Gusto has gone up, because it's a point and click environment. Plenty of guys want that simplicity. The club is walking distance to their hotel or apartment. Buy a few drinks, a girl comes over. 15 minutes later he's fucking the hottest girl he's ever been with. He doesn't care about $200.

But it's a closed environment. He's not working Facebook or going after any other segment of the market. What he spends in Gusto only matters in Gusto.
