Hi there, I'll be coming to Colombia for the first time in January for at least 3 weeks, plan to hit Bogota and Medellin at least. I speak pretty good Spanish and have mongered a lot in Europe, the DR and Argentina, however all I know about Colombia is what have read and seen online. I've read back many pages here, but still have to ask some annoying newbie questions.

I would like to rent a place (on Airbnb probably) in an area with regular Colombian shops / cafes, not too snobby and not rundown. Any recommendations? What about downtown? Someone near the majority of the casas if possible.

Are taxi's there cheap / safe? What about the metro? Is the RLD safe to walk around during the daytime? I'm a bit of a lone wolf, so if I don't find myself in a group of guys, is it unsafe to walk around there at night? Are the hotel rooms there safe / clean? Are there many Casas in that neighborhood too? Questions !! Questions!!

I'm interested in the RLD district in Medellin as I notice a lot of curvier types on youtube videos which I suspect I won't see in the Casas, or am I wrong? Are there casas that are better for this type? (tits and ass!) They don't have to be European model types. To me a pretentious club with skinny barbie girls asking me to buy them champagne is my idea of a nightmare. I'll take a sexy woman with a big smile and a nice rack and ass over that any day!

Can't answer all your questions since it's been a while since I have been in Medellin. As for curvy girls, the high end ones tend to have young, slim girls (mostly). If you go to cheaper places, you'll see more variety. But regardless of your type, you will find them in Colombia!!

The taxis I rode in were all safe and they are not so expensive. Better to take a taxi than Uber or walk. Enjoy and be sure to post a report!!

Tried Energy on Friday evening, did not like the lineup or the ambiance. Walked away. The place is not that easy to find, and there is no "energy" sign outside.

So overall Medellin experience average / below. Both girls and service were not upto my expectations, and language is overall an issue.

Well, there are more diplomatic way of finding out. A simple "que buscas aca" (what are you looking for) should do it. Most prepagadas will tell you.

The price at Energy is 150 k for 1 hour full service. Search Fantasias Energy Medellin to find their website.

Loutron is the most expensive casa in Medellin. The price is somewhere in the 300 k range.

New Life is in El Centro at Calle 56 #43-39. It's easy to find, just look for the blue door. Aiffe is another casa a block away. It's at Calle 57 #43-27. It's also easy to find. Just look for the red door.

Hotel M Medellin is the Mansion, or Hotel Medellin Plaza.

There's so much talk about Gusto because some guys consider it the gateway to heaven and others think it's the pit of hell. In reality, it's just another disco, where hookers hang out and hope to find guys willing to overpay.

Reached last Saturday afternoon.

1st evening at Parqe llera. Lots of Halloween crowd, lost of SWs. Nothing good.

Fase Dos:
Sunday evening 10 pm, thin crowd.
This is strip club, girls dance, come around for collection, girls mingle for solicitation. Atmosphere is good overall, girls 6 -8.
Picked up a chic-Frida (dark skin, slim, bolt Ons, 7) - poor experience service, 190 K. (Beers are 20 K).

Wednesday afternoon 4 PM.
This is fuck place (no dancing), girls come and introduce themselves- just name, mostly 5 -8. Beers 15 K.
Picked a chic. Vanessa, slim, natural (As), 7.5- decent+ service, 150 K.

When talking to Facebook girls, how do you gentlemen (where applicable) address payment and expectations? I've have several ladies that I'm chatting with that have already said they would like to meet me but I'm afraid if I even mention anything about money some will get offended as many of them don't seem like prepagos. I also don't want to mention it and ruin the possibilities of getting in for free.

I would say I am fairly attractive guy, athletic, and in my 30's.

I will be there for 4 days so I really don't want to risk wasting my time just hanging out with them unless they're willing to bang in the end.

I guess in this situation it's a bonus from my Facebook picture that I'm an obvious middle aged gringo. If they friend me at all it pretty much means they're a prepago.

I usually post when I'm going to be in Medellin and / or when I arrive. The ones that that respond or start sending me messages are probably prepagos. If they are ones I'm interested in then I'll respond to them. I've only hit up one girl where she may have not been a prepago. My initial message is something like "I'm looking for a date and wondering if you are available" so it wasn't too awkward when she didn't respond with "si, amor" right away. My next message is usually "what will I owe you for your company?" and I negotiate from there. The response is almost always 150 K + Taxi or 200 K total. I always negotiate the price but not necessarily the exact details. (I may change that). I definitely don't want any drama when it comes time to pay.

I can't read your pic but I can only imagine how they responded because I had a bad experience with two girls asking that question too LOL!

I guess that was my next question. How to go about bringing the subject up to a non pro without offending them. Personally I'the prefer a non pro than a pro plus it's free so treating them nicely matters LOL.

I found, after making over 150 facebook friends with chicas, that I've refined my introduction and pitch to such a degree that usually now I just copy and paste the same phrases over and over.

1. When you find a girl to your liking, friend her and send her a short message about how your visiting Colombia and would like to meet them.

2. About 40% will respond to your message. If they're super enthusiastic and immediately agree right off the bat then you've struck prepago gold and can safely move on to step 5. Otherwise, make some small talk (How are you, I like your photos, you seem fun, etc.) and maybe tell them a little about yourself to put them at ease.

3. Close out the conversation by saying how you think we could have a good time together.

So I'm already doing 1-2. 3 is a perfect transition line that I'll start using. I'll definitely get a good feel on what they're thinking. I guess I can gauge their intentions from here since I definitely don't want to tell them I'm just trying to bang and willing to pay LOL. I'm more concern of offending a non-pro, which are worth gold to me haha. I've had what happened to another poster happened to me where a had solid 7's totally stop talking to me once I mentioned the prepago thing and I'm pretty sure they were down haha.

But regardless I think knowing if there is money involved first and, IF there is, finding out how much before anything happens is key to avoid any potential issues.

The clubs weren't even open yet, it was Sunday. My understanding was they open by 2 or 4.

My hotel guy (in EL Pob) had strictly advised not to go there after dark.

In any case I didn't get get an opportunity to 'actually' try them, but they are definitely in 'shady' streets.

LOL. You were scared because there were homeless people? Back streets? They are on main thoroughfares. I don't even know if those clubs are open on Sundays, but on Monday thru Saturday you don't want to go to them before 8 pm. Just like Fase 2, you don't go there until like 11pm. Daytime in Colombia is casa action. People go there when they have lunchtime or a break from work. Night time is nightclub/stripclub action. People go there when they are finished work and want to wind down or party.

Data packages from Tigo, Claro, etc. Are cheaper than most any data roaming deals. Even the free roaming deals from google, T-Mobile and others are throttled at 3 G or less. Some of them give you a small allowance at 4 G or LTE. That doesn't matter for social media and whatsapp but it's a pain in the butt for video streaming or work related applications.

I just got a local SIM at the mall. Costed 20 K for 2 GB- not sure of carrier, it showed p as Airtel. Not sure if it was 1 week or unlimited time.

Data worked great, did not use voice (No Espaneol), but for some reason the Texting wouldn't work.

Overall it worked out.
