If its your first time to Colombia I strongly recommend to stay at the mansion for the first few days. To get your bearings. Downtown is not safe at night and sometimes even during the day. Unless you are planning to get strip club girls or escorts you will have a hard time finding girls to come to your place that will be worth your while. FB is the best bang for your buck both in $ and quality of service. Read a few reports in here and will give you an idea for girls. Just my 2 cents..

As in you'll be in Colombia next week or you'll start planning your holiday then? I really hope it's the latter otherwise it won't be that easy. I suggest you give this thread a good read and then come back with more specific questions, my friend. Most of the above have already been discussed at length.

I'll try to help you with my 2 cents though:

Not sure what you mean by downtown. This is not the States and such a concept doesn't really exist in SA. If you mean El Centro then stay clear. Otherwise anywhere in Poblado will be fine. A few of the guys here stay in Laureles which is a nice area for nightlife. Full disclosure I've never personally stayed there myself but JBee62 (who is by far one of the most experienced and knowledgeable guys here) recommends it which is honestly more than enough for me.

It appears like Medellin and other SA destinations are becoming more lucrative for US Mongers as the flight from NYC is only 5 to 6 hours and girls pricing is very affordable. Other Monger destinations such as EU FKK clubs are becoming very expensive, plus hotel and meals. My suggestion is to make a group of us mongers and plan a trip to Medellin in March or April.
