Bro, it is very good that you are thinking about controlling your sexual thoughts before marriage. If you get married right after doing lots of mongering or pron, then you'll lose interest in monogamy very soon (though it is joyful in actuality) and cause relationship problems. That is because your system is tuned for overstimulation. It is like listening to a mild melody right after hearing loud party music, your system won't appreciate the gentleness. So very important to give few months of break to mongering & pron to reset system before marriage.

I had few years of break and it was very very hard. Some tips:

- Do not fight it head on. If there is much free time, mind will automatically go to sex thoughts because of habit. Instead give yourself a goal, for example, getting next promotion at work or achieving next level in your hobby. Or go crazily after money instead of sex for a change (have goal of x lakhs), it'll divert attention from sex and easy sex will follow money anyway.

- Same time, do yoga everyday and it is very effective in bringing back body's natural balance. Though we may think we need sex often, it is not true. Since we had sex frequently (by selfsex, pron induced sex or by mongering), body got into that short cycle. If you see regular people, their cycle would be much longer. Initially it is hard to widen the cycle, but once it is done, you'll see sex desire comes once in few weeks by itself instead of once every few days. For that, stopping pron is highly important (even more than mongering). Yoga and meditation will bring certain joy that sometimes feels much better than sex and will fill the sex void.

- do daily reminders & affirmations on problems of too much mongering / pron. It is said that those mongering much will either end up in jail (by LE), or in morgue (diseases. Much bigger problem than LE). As we monger more, the desire cycle gets shorter and shorter leading to desire even every few hours. It is an irony that the more sex / pron we do, the more the desire and more drive for dangerous behavior. Remind yourself this everyday.

If above don't work, there is likelihood that you are on verge of addiction. For some people, stress, early childhood truma etc makes mongering too compelling and above approaches won't work unless root psychological cause is fixed. There are very good resources to understand this and stop it early. For example, go through resources in site sa. Org. There are many sites and even good books on this topic (search in amazon / google). Face-to-face anonymous group meetings are available in Bangalore and they are most effective of all.

Hi all,
