I guess this one near bsk bus stand in south blr. They have branches and listed on nearbuy. Therapist miss. S. Hope this helps.

That's not entirely true.

Look at Delhi, they have a lot more spas and indies when compared to Bangalore. So you can't say that it can't be controlled in a place as large as Bangalore.

Yet they ensure not to let the prices be jacked up by telling no to therapists and laughing off any absurd prices set by indies or masseuses.

The reason we have such prices is because some mongers are willing to pay whatever is being quoted. Be it 1 k for a HJ or even 3 k for a HJ.

We have to come together to cm try and control prices. The minute we do that, prices will drop.

We've seen it in indies itself. Moneys are ready to pay whatever they ask. So they begin jacking up prices. Some even refuse to go with the original prices they started with; hiking prices to almost double to what they used to give it at. But the minute we show disinterest, and demand goes down, the indie is willing to bring the prices down.

Is all a matter of saying NO and sticking to our guns and not thinking with Johnny.

One must always assume a market remains free as long as there are no tariffs, quotas, embargos etc. Let's say that you plan to manipulate the market. The only way you can, is by either governing the market (which you are not in a position to do so) or by controlling the demand (which is what you are suggesting).

Now, to control demand thereby manipulating price, you must assume you can control a significant share of the market.

We should set a standard price for different categories and services like MP, SP, Inde, HJ, FS, etc. Depending on quality of service.

It will help newbies as well to understand the current price, so they don't hike it.

The only way you can, is by either governing the market (which you are not in a position to do so) or by controlling the demand (which is what you are suggesting).

Now, to control demand thereby manipulating price, you must assume you can control a significant share of the market.

Let's just take MP's and do a highly conservative assumption driven analysis:

Tripadvisor lists about 171 Spa's in Bangalore, so let's take this as 150 and assume each are open to customers for a maximum of 8 sessions per therapist per day. Further, let's assume 5 therapists in each Spa with 80% utilization during weekends (6 massages done) and 25% utilization during weekdays (2 massages done). Basically you are looking at 440 massages per spa per month and about 66000 massages a month in Bangalore.

If you assume even a mere 30% of people look for extras, that's about a market of 20000. Unless you have 5000 people in the Bangalore chapter of ISG and somehow get all of them to cooperate, this is just a lost battle.

Same logic with a twist goes for uber / ola drivers who want / plan / strike to pressurize their "market makers" into giving higher commissions. Question is who needs who & which of the two can survive longer when its check-mate!

Now the only way to control price (I wouldn't be writing this just to spin-off some gyan!) Here is the only solution that will work, "Become the market maker" Become the Swiggy, Become the Flipkart, Become the Ola.

Looking at all the threads and the generosity of a few super rich guys here, I have a suggestion. Let's standardize the rates. This is what I am proposing. Let's make a list of all the misses and put standard rates. Seniors who have experience can work out better deals but no one should pay more than these prices. MPs are already standard and we should formally put it here. People paying more should be classified as dumb.

Let me know your thoughts.
