I am not a cyber expert but have fairly good knowledge of software. Here are my thoughts.

Did you ever use this password on any other website? I am wondering whether the so called hacker got the password from any other website which has been hacked. If so, I would recommend that you change your email password immediately. Also, change the password of any important portal (e. G. Bank account) where you are using this same password. I would also recommend that your most important logins have different passwords. Different passwords for email1, email 2 etc. Different passwords for bankaccount1, bank account 2 etc. And so on.

The more dissimilar the passwords- the safer you are in case of a leak from one portal.

Don't panic. In case it is indeed a ransomware- we will deal with it appropriately.

Dear Brother,

This is a just a latest scam going around in the world nowadays. Please delete the email and relax. These scammers keep coming up with new tricks. If you do a google search or youtube search you will see many guys complaining about the scam. I had got a similar email 02 months back and after searching on google I realised it is just another scam. All the best.

Got similar email. Password was 10 years old one and I know that that password was compromised. Didn't bother at all. I do use porn site + masturbation. But the possibility that someone can record using laptop camera is extremely low (Only big spy agencies have those capability).

Unless someone sends you a copy of some compromising video, there is nothing to worry. Just chill.

There might be ransomeware installed on your computer.

Change your password from some other computer and see he comes to know or not.

If still happens, take the backup of the system and format it.

Do not copy back your data on the same system for a while, see how your system is behaving.
