Thanks, SJobs, and hey when you fill out that form here that is required to be filled out before you go, https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.c...reregistro.jsf, can you let us all know if there are any surprises? I doubt there is, but I would just like to know..
Just filled out the form, it automatically detected my flight, I guess that's a good sign about my Medellin flight. You will have a chance to upload your Covid test result. A bunch of standard questions about whether you are feeling sick or have been quarantined before. I got my negative Covid PCR test result, downloaded the corona app, getting ready to board my flight in the afternoon. Tussi ordered and 18-year-olds lined up. Will report back after I land.

    Try

Scotiabank. It's a Canadian bank that took over Citibank's ATM's in Colombia. They have never, ever failed to deliver funds anywhere in Colombia: Medellin, Cartagena, Perreira, Bogota; their ATM's always work.

So I opened a new account with Cap1 360 and received a new ATM card (a different bank), letting them know that I travel all the time and will be using the ATM here in Colombia starting last week.

    Same error.

Is anyone having issues with their US based ATM cards in Colombia?

15 Minute Test is not a PCR test

The 15 minute test is an antigen test. The antigen test is NOT the same as a PCR test.

Can anyone tell me if she returns to Colombia without that test will they turn her away and refuse entry?

My research turned up a very helpful website: www.rapidtesttravel.com. After you type in your US state and select PCR as the test, crowd-sourced data from travelers then gives you a list of places that can give you a test result in 48 or 24 hours.

As for Florida in the Ft Lauderdale. Miami area, the consensus from another travel forum where they are discussing this PCR test issue at length is to get your test at the Lab Doctor, which is very close to the Ft Lauderdale airport. The clinic give you a result within 24 hours at a cost of $179. Here are their contact details:

    Tests needed to enter Colombia

"private providers who can do the test promptly at a fee" in Colombia on arrival or in Miami?

If you don't mind me asking, how much is the traveler's policy? What you described sounds better than the EPS inclusions.

Regardless, and damn the torpedos, I'm thinking of returning next month, albeit I'm going to curtail / change how I roll and just shack up with a few girls versus shooting fish in a barrel every day in El Centro.

Another thing for those who will be returning, it would be good to make sure you have health insurance. Just in case, I'm looking at a travellers policy thru Blue Cross / Blue Shield which is associated with nine Hospitals in Medellin, including Tobon which is the best in town.

The app has your incoming flight recorded. If anyone gets the virus that was on board with you they know you were on the same flight and subsequently have you go on quarantine. Has far as people complaining about having to go on the app then just don't go to Colombia.

I think you use it to report your health condition for 14 days after arrival. Other countries do it by SMS or have someone come to your place to take your temperature a couple of times a day.

Neither the link nor the screenshot of it that you attached make any mention of a 14 day quarantine. It does mention that is recommended that passengers download the Coronapp and use it to report their health status "before" (it does not specify for what period before) their flight and for 14 days after their flight. It is very misleading to suggest the government has announced visitors will be subject to a quarantine. That may yet happen but it has not happened so far.

I can help clarify the announcement. The announcement uses this language (translated): Are you thinking of traveling to Colombia? Keep the following recommendations in mind. Note the use of the word "recommendations" instead of "requirements" or other language. The announcement states a single (e. G. Only one) requirement. It states it will be demanded by both the airline and by Colombian immigration. That requirement is the PCR test result that is no more than 96 hours old. It is listed as #1. Those who are planning to take flights should probably confirm whether the airlines will in fact require the test result as a condition of boarding.

#2 - Fill out a landing card on the Colombia immigration web site up to 24 hours before your flight and at least 1 hour before your flight. The announcement goes on to say it will make your immigration control process "much faster and safer". My interpretation of this is the online landing card is not a requirement but it will shorten your time in the immigration area which also makes it a safer process because it reduces the time the area will be crowded with passengers. That form has been on the immigration web site since mid March by the way.

#3 - The announcement recommends (as distinct from requires as a condition of entry or a condition of remaining in Colombia) you download the Coronapp and use it to report your health status before your flight and for 14 days after your flight. It goes on to say "In Colombia we worry about your health". There is no mention of the Orwellian surveillance, deportation and entry ban threats, and other nightmare scenarios.

#4 - Wear a mask and wash your hands is the final recommendation.

$550 one way? Holy fuckballs, that is downright rapacious. There must be very high demand. I think I would probably wait it out until the fares get back to reality.
